Oh yeah, I forgot that English isn't your primary language.  It's stands for "too long; didn't read."

Thanks, always good to learn something new. Also that's a good sign :]
Well it's an ultimate review and writing it was very taxiing, but I quite enjoyed it.
I might put some time stamps on later to highlight what is newly added.

By the way, since you are in Austin, I don't suppose you were at RTX 2013?
Cheers.

Yeah a lot of times people will add "TL:DR," and then give their bottom line.  What's RTX?

Wow, that's some serious writing skills here Luke!

Such a long review that I read till the end in one shot, it doesn't happen that often!

Congrats man

Now I just wish I could get my ears on a pair of HE-6 (mine, perhaps

) and try these on some integrated amps.
My dad has an Exposure 2010S I would love to hear with these!

I need a banana adapter!

General information added (for HE-6, RE-400 and Pro 900) under each HP in the "a)headphones" section, an Ultrasone Pro 900 graph (added to the HE-6 graph, instead oh the other HiFiMAN models), as well as 2 additional jack pictures.

If you want a new feature or section incorporated, let me know :)

Hey conquerator,

Any chance of you putting some comparisons with other TOTL headphones?

Hi,
Sure there is a chance, once I acquire some more. As it stands, the HE-6 is the only TOTL headphone I own, the other two headphones are mentioned in the review :]

I'd predict the next TOTL headphone I'd add would be the Jade II once it's released though.

I'll be probably staying with the HiFiMAN brand for a while if they don't let me down..

Jade II?????? From Hifiman? Where did u get that info from??... Am really interested now!!! As the best headphone mr. Fang ever made was the original HE AUDIO JADE with wooden cups..It was the first headphone he ever made!! And the ones in the know bout headphones consider this headphone among the ones of the like of he90 and sr009 soundwise... Check this review out:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/634201/battle-of-the-flagships-58-headphones-compared-update-audeze-lcd-2-revision-2-6-4-13#user_JADE

But its probably even more rare then a he90!

i am also waiting for new to come higher end headphones next year..being from hifiman specifically..and i heard directly from hifiman themselves that they are working on some new higher end over ear headphones...so i am guessing a he7 or he600 or a jade (as u just mentioned)...

I got that thread subscribed for some time now, but thanks :]
Yeah read it many times, David knoows his stuff.
Also, that new rumoured HiFiMAN headphone is said to be the Jade II, so I am coming off that. othing confirmed yet but from a few sources it seems likely that their next flagship will be an electrostatic HP.
Definitely the HE Audio Jade was a remarkable headphone, the problem is that every pair sounded almost differently and that they were unreliable.
The HE-6 though is no slouch - it is an amazing headphone [although it still leaves a bit to be desired build quality wise].
I use it for gaming a lot [awesome] as well as for music [also awesome :]] and sometimes for movies [decent, too bad it shows bad voice acting so easily :D]

So I am content, waiting for the next HiFiMAN headphone

Yeah i read bout the unreliability of the jades...and me too read that thread many times by now..

But i hope their next top phone wont be a full electrostat but built like a he6 but scaled up...as an electrostatic would be bad for me i guess...As at this moment a new custommade amp is being built for me by Blue Circle Audio with specs to drive a he6...and it then would be useless to drive a electrostat! :xf_eek:
Oh well..the he6 wont be a bad second choice i guess :p

No it certainly won't.
Then again, people want from HiFiMAN to make an electrostat [I would love one too]
It would also be great for them as they already have a bunch of excellent orthodynamics and a pair of marvelous IEMs. Electrostat is what they need to fill it all up :]
Not to mention, all you need is a decent electrostatic amp [you can get one for around 700 - 1200 USD at HeadAmp for example, which are great], all the other gears [except for speaker/headphone amplifier] will still be usable :]

Then i hope they are working on a better version of the he6 AND THEN a whole new electrostat...

Something in particular you don't like about the HE-6?
blink.gif

The only thing I could think of is soundstage, but as said numerous times, the separation kinda makes up for it
wink_face.gif

The bass is audiophile and it is sonically accurate and correct IMO. Not much to blame other than the recording's colour [which there is a lot, as most of them are really not binaural recordings, but compensated for speakers unfortunately]

I do like the he6...(thats why my new amp is specifically made for the he6) I consider them above any audeze soundwise...but as i heard from hifiman themselves they are working on new models i hoped on a even better sounding one.. Especially building quality... And connectors that are not vertical?

But as i said.. If no better model comes out then i will be buying a he6..

But if anyone buys the new electrostat when its out then...sent me a pm..i will maybe buy ur he6 for the right price :D
