Just ordered SPC cables by Chris_Himself for TF10s...what am I going to notice? - Page 4

i'm actual an old fart @ 53 and i'm not trying to argue but....

you broke two pins at the same time and explained to me that you did absolutely nothing to cause them to break. i replied that i didn't think it possible as in my opinion pins dont just break as its generally from sitting on iems or putting in too small a case etc. i have since changed to a very secure connector with the outside cover that gives extra support like stock connectors.

as far as chris's offer to extract pins, he would have just told audio-phile to send to me as i do ALL THE LABOR/WORK. chris only sells cables not work on/make them. i have done extractions in past and explained process to other headfiers that have had this issue as its very simple to use a #11 exacto blade and twist upwards (as long as some of the pin is sticking out of iem) or send to me.

Oops I didn't realize your age, and because of Chris' age I assumed. And you know what they say about that... At any rate, Chris seems a bit better communication wise, but that's just how I see it. And I don't want to argue as well, because I love your work and don't want to sour the taste. But wouldn't you agree that that design of the TF10's connectors are pretty bad? I had your old style connectors, so why switch, to as you describe as a more secure/better connector, if there weren't issues with the old one?

Like I said, love your stuff and sorry about the age mixup. But go easy on me, I'm just trying understand how these could break within about a month and I was babying them. And then it's automatically my negligence, isn't it possible that there's another cause? I blame the UE design! haha

Regardless, because of how great you are, I now have the Shure style connectors, so this will never happen again! I'm sure that, at least, makes you feel a lot happier. I know I'm glad haha Thanks!

since starting 5 years ago its been a constant evolution in the making of cables-plugs-connectors-wires-etc so theirs always some new/better style coming along hence the change. as a manufacturer its in everybodies best interest to use the best quaility parts available. yes chris is a salesman so he does have the better speal than me but in the end its up to me as the manufacturer to be honest about why things break and yes something usually causes pins to break.

I would agree with Ted. It is easy for salesman to promise the world he does not have to do the repairs. I had the sleaving on my SPC cables removed by Ted and since then ordered pure silver OCC cables, LOD and a balanced silver OCC cable from Ted and he was extremely knowledgeable and pleasent to deal with.

It's give and take, I provide as best of service as I am capable of from my end of things, I am not without faults which I am completely open to admitting. My job is to promise the customer will be happy, and trust that when it comes to putting work on the bench, Ted will always meet me halfway all the time which he most certainly does. Last time I checked it's worked beautifully, and while I'm not perfect at answering e-mails within 24 hours on select weekends, it is not my intention to dodge anybody or rip anybody off. We're both working hard and I believe these last two years of explosive growth show for that.

Spook76, I apologize if our communications in the past were less than ideal. Either way the fact that you are using our product means that one of us are doing something right. Thats still a good outcome to me.

And that's ultimately my point. I would describe my situation as just a hiccup, nobody or thing is perfect. I still enjoy your product!
