Sony MDR-EX700 multiple sightings on ebay, are they the real thing or are they getting much...

I was just browsing through ebay and came across multiple sellers all having " Brand New in Box" MDR-EX700 available.

I currently own a pair of them and have been looking for a "backup" pair without much success until now.

Check these out:

All these seller (US Sellers) have multiple sets of the EX700 and they all show pictures of them in what looks to me as legit boxes (same as the one I own).

In the past all I could find on ebay are $5 fake EX700's and where did these "BNIB" EX700 came from?

Can you guys check them out and share your thoughts?

Thanks

Too varied to tell, too many sellers, no real info. I have an EX-700 fake, but it was sold as a fake.

Yeah that's what I was thinking after reading through all these auctions. I guess the only way to really tell is to buy one and compare with the ones I already own. I just hate having to deal with the return and other hassles if they turn out to be fakes.

To be honest I would rather buy stuff from Amazon, but even if you buy from eBay and it is fake, you can raise a claim with PayPal?

My money's on them being fake, especially that particular model. Not worth the risk, avoid.

EX700 is one of the most commonly faked IEM in China, and the exterior is extremely well made - but not the sound. Save yourself some money and buy Sony from a real store.

Yeah paypal is pretty good about these things. It's a hassle but I should be ok with the Paypal's buyer protection if it turns out to be a counterfeit set.

I understand what you guys are saying, it's just so tempting to have a backup when my EX700 finally dies.
