The NEW WS99/WS77 PG 57.. - Page 6

So the Shure SRH840 pads don't fit these at all. I was buying them for another can anyway. I did try my Denon HP700 pads on these as those are a bit wider and plushier. But doesn't really add to the comfort or sound..  I lined up my Beyer velour pads I was using on my HTF600 on here and those I am sure will fit the WS99 but they have no cloth in the middle so I will have to throw a lining in front of the driver to use them but those look like they will fit. I will see if I can find something to fit on the driver maybe some cloth so my ears are not touching the driver straight..

But with that being said I have been listening to them all day. No fatigue or pain on my head or ear area. They seem to get more comfier as I use them. So I don't feel different pads are a 100% necessity.. The pads on here are not bad. I only wish it was a bit fuller around the edges for more plush but hey I will take the plush I got..

I will add stuff to the OP that will eventually be a full review but for now. I am just soaking up how they sound. And they sound freaking great to my ears.. So much right with this type of tuning on these cans to go with the tech behind the sound..

Danny I am 100% certain is fixed on getting pair. We are all kinda waiting a bit for another AT product to come out in a CKN70 earphones. Once that happens.. He will be the man with the M100 comparo..

I am gonna tell any body that has heard previous AT efforts.. This year the sound AT is throwing out to guys that buy is nothing short of refinements over refinements from previous efforts resulting in these new cans...This is why I was not surprised these WS99 lived up to what I hoped they sound like and thensome.. These are not last years AT sound or the previous years AT sound.  All of the new cans I have bought from AT this year are each excellent in what type of sound the cans are going for... The AD900X open cans.. The ES700 portables and now these WS99.  Whom ever is at the helm tweeking the sound on these cans more than knows their craft.

I have never been more happy with AT sound ever more than this years new offerings.

Those pads look roughly like the SRH840 pads. Maybe a bit smaller. SRH840 pads are too big for the cups on the WS99. I don't think those will fit. I like how those look though.

Unless you guys have ears that stick out like this diagram. If so you will definitely need new pads if you want to try the WS99.

But if you have what is somewhat normal style of ear you should be fine with stock pads. I gave away my M-50 to my brother in law otherwise I would try them as well. I am thinking those will fit on here with more plushness.

Ears like this you should be golden.

I am certain these use memory foam. It is not as plush as something like a M-50 pads or them Shure pads. Much shallower but I am happy with the stock pads. They aren't the best I have used but are not uncomfy for me like the stock pads that were on the ES700.

I was listening to Metallica on my WS99 and a kid walks in to my shop with one of these.

It is this color too. I have my WS99 on my head as I type. He is looking at my headphones. His thought is what is that?

Just a pair of headphones. Not the beats but just a pair of headphones.. Realizing this kid spent $200 for his beats. I spend that much on my WS99. Which one you guys think will have the better sound. Hmm.

I ain't letting the kid touch my phones. He wanted to hear but no. He wants to be like LeBron..

Who am I to deny a kid of his dreams.
