The NEW WS99/WS77 PG 57.. - Page 22

You have to use Tenso forwarding service when ordering from Amazon Japan. Register with Tenso and there is a template on there that shows you how to put in their address on Amazon Japan once you are ready to check out.. They ship it to Tenso.. Tenso charges you a small handling fee and EMS shipping around $32 or so and a week later you will be listening to your new WS99.

Here is what you need to do. You need to log onto Tenso and make an account. Once this is done you will be given a custom shipping address to use when checking out from Amazon Japan.

Ya on your home page there is a template with how to put in the address.

The address they gave you is exactly the same info I got as well. When you try n check out of Amazon Japan. Everything is exactly the same as the US/international version. Except what your putting in is that address.

There is real helpful template on How to enter your tenso address. Click on it and then click on the Amazon.Co.jp template

You should see numbers 1-7

1) your name in english

2) 120-0023                         just like it says

3) Tokyo-ku                         drop down selection

4)                                       Copy n paste on your amazon this line

5)TS148669                       Your TSnumber will be different that what is on here but use your TS##### number here.

6)                                       Copy n paste this exact on your Amazon like line 4

7)03-5739-3341                  That is it. Simple as that. And once you hit order. You are done. they send your earphones to Tenso and once Tenso gets it. They charge you like 5 bux for the handling and then around $28 for shipping. That is that.

Use this when checking out of Amazon Japan. They ship the WS99 to Tenso. Then Tenso will send you an email saying they got your item. You pay Tenso. They will ship you the WS99. You get WS99 and all will be good with your world.

OMG look at price at:
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/s/detailview.html?KEY=NEOACS-18300

No account setup necessary just click and buy like I did there for my es700.
Also take note that from the pics don't show how close to head and low profile the wws99 is.
They are second only to the Vmoda in sleekness.
The s500 actually sticks out more and looks out of place in comparison on my head because smaller. tongue.gif

Hi guys! May be not the right place but how would the WS99 and the M100 generally compare to the AT ATH-900X and also in the BASS area?  And would anybody be able to compare Ultrasone Pro900 vs all these ?

So looks like AccessoryJack is a better option then IMO. :P AccessoryJack also tries to bypass custom fees charges for international buyers... at least didn't have to pay any when buying CKS77 from there due to a rather nice custom declaration.

Once it gets more widespread and available in europe I'd expect to be about to pick it up for about 20~$30 cheaper though but not quite sure if it's worth the wait. ;P

Many of us in the US and Canada have ordered from Amazon.jp in conjunction with tenso (in fact, I just oredered the ws99's last night). No problems reported yet. I'll look for dsnuts' tutorial for getting you set up.

But why? AccessoryJack should be easier/cheaper right as they doesn't even charge for the shipping, no? :)

The WS99's completely cover my ears and can also serve as very stylish earmuffs. Are the ES-10's in that photo sanded?

I wasn't aware of AccessoryJack until now. I see that they are $245.34 Canadian ($0 shipping).

At amazon.jp they are 15,271 yen which is $163 CN. Plus approx $42 tenso shipping to Canada (that's now much I paid my ad900x's) for a total of $205.

It looks like the cdjapan option that Maxx134 posted above would work out to just about the same as $205 (to Canada).

So unless I have anything wrong, I'm happy with the amazon.jp + tenso route (also, they should get here pretty quickly).

Stock earpads on ES10 detected!

Proceeding to recommend a change to the ESW9 earpads!

Anyway, seriously, though, how does the WS99 compare to the ES10 sound-wise? I'd be interested in picking up a pair.

As curious as I am to hear how the WS99 sound, can we really justify paying over $200 for headphones that don't have a detachable cable or a carrying case? Can somebody at least tell me how the build quality of the WS99's hard-wired cables are? Even if they do sound better than the M100 for some, the detachable cables and the fact that V-MODA tosses in all the accessories you'll ever need for free is hard to resist...

On another note, has anyone got a chance to listen to the WS99's little sibling, the WS77?

I have similar feeling regarding detachable cables for a $200 headphone cuz it should be a mandatory feature nowadays. For some reasons companies such a AKG/ ATH/ JVC/ Beyer, etc don't really like to provide this on their headphones.  BUT i can overlook this "flaw" for a "portable" headphone if the sound more than makes up for such missing features. Cuz at the end of the day we are paying for great sound, and the hardware is just the extra goodie.

I thought their cables were detachable!!??

Bah!

Anyway, I was about to order them but... will wait for a bit... (possibly another buy...)
