3.  I have a 3rd Gen 64gb Ipod Touch and a laptop.  Will these sources be sufficient to evoke a great sound from the WS99?

4.  How well would the Schiit Magni/Modi stack pair with the WS99?

5.  Does the WS99 absolutely blow the M50 away in all aspects of sound reproduction?

I apologize if these questions have already been answered.

Thank You.

The WS99s do great without an amp. They are really easy to drive and honestly I don't hear that much of a difference when amped. They will benefit from a clean signal though, so I would be more concerned with your DAC for these. The IPod should sound fine, but I'm not sure about your laptop, some onboard chipsets are pretty bad. I haven't tried them with the Magni/Modi but it should sound fine. I run them from a Galaxy S (with the Wolfson DAC) and they sound great.

Probably if WS99 is double-amped with 2 ZOs that I've tested too as I have all the 3 different ZO versions but with Q40 the bass gets just TOO MUCH even if it sounds pretty decent still otherwise, wondering how that would work with WS99 though if one ZO won't be enough.

That has to be absolute mud.

As it is with the ZO, there's already a significant fidelity loss and veil put over the sound. Double the ZO, then crank the bass that high?

I don't understand how that's even listenable.

You might as well tape subwoofers to your head.

Guys I just got the piping hot ws33x. And let me tell ya, I prefer them over ws99 and AD900x...... Its true, the width and depth is one step ahead of ws99(imo) more treble sparkle(I love it). Bass is slighly on the loose side but its not all-over-the-place loose but a controlled loose. Extends very deep as well. Its like middle ground between ws99 and AD900x. No burn in was needed I loved it from the start. Guess what's the best part. Its only 50bucks:)

One thing that ws33x lacks by a bit compared to ws99 would be timbre of instruments. By a lil margin though.

How does it best the AD900x? Really interesting (and kinda disappointing :/) to hear that a brand new ~$50 AT phone is better than the "old" ~$150 WS99. I may just pick up a pair myself to see.

yeah but it's hardstyle music he listens to - not much detail or clarity to be heard in the first place. i'm not hating on hardstyle, that's just the way the genre is.

As some one who is accustomed to wearing their headphones around their bedroom while doing things, something had to be done about the short cable.

So, I spent 8 bucks on this bad boy http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CIZ2R92/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I am happy to say that I do not detect any noticeable difference in music or games with this. The only downside is that it is heavier but I can live with that.

Hmm... Seems interesting would you mind doing a kind of a review? Might be worth looking into, seems that is generally around $70 shipped for me.

Sure I will do a short review soon, just give me some time to burn it in for fair comparison with AD900x or ws99 which I owned for quite a long time.
Just to clarify, I'm not exactly saying ws33x is better than ws99. I just love the more treble sparkle and slightly wider stage. I think it actually is a effect of on-ear design which gives me more distance between drivers and my ears.

where'd you find it for $50? Only see it around $80?

I just converted the price on amazon japan to us dollors.

We're waiting for that review Jung Woo Cho!

Btw, they look fairly large to be on-ears. Do they sit comfortably on your ears? Also, they don't have black on amazon japan right now, but I'm sure that could change at any time.
