Thats the exact one I have which I show pretty much anyone who wants to try my headphones out. They're my reference song as the bass is phenomenal and the soundstaging on the vocals are fantastic. Pretty much every element to a good song is in it.

Not high end, but my brothers reaction to my M50s was quite pleasing. He'd experienced only ibuds and their ilk to that point - they were "good enough", and there's "no point to spending more". Was shacking up at a hotel with him to see Radiohead in concert (dream come true) and he commented on my headphones. Being in that mood, he wanted to test them out with Jigsaw Falling into Place. He had a unfocused, listless look playing with his phone when I pressed play, but when the audio hit, he looked up, focused, and stared at the wall. He then turned it up and continued staring at nothing. After a while, he began frowning. He then took them off and flatly asked me how much they were and where to get them. He ended up getting a pair a few days later.

How was it for you? I loved it in August.

Was at a friends house who had a rather expensive Bose setup and he played Skyfall by Adele..they were all going on about how great the song sounded.

One day when my friends came over and had a glimpse at my Bifrost+Lyr +He-500 combo and questioned it.

I let them try it out with Skyfall by Adele.........priceless reaction. =D

Excellent. I was at their last tour show in Melbourne. Awesome setlist, visual showcase and musicianship. My only regret is I didn't have general admission tickets and had to watch from seats. Atmosphere suffered, somewhat. It seemed like I was the only one getting my Thomas Yorke on.

biggrin.gif I was on the floor. Great show, scary though, 2 people collapsed from drugs. I loved the screens that came down in the concert though, did you see those?

^ Yes, fortunately I was actually quite close, directly in front, but it's a far more reserved affair up in the seating. The light show was spectacular. Loved it when it started flaring up and complimenting the percussion. Was mind blowing. No Climbing Up The Walls though, which is my favourite track. Overall it was a great selection though.

Wow, I can imagine that happening. Been in GA quite a few times previously and seen similar stuff go down. It's a jungle out there... smily_headphones1.gif

I recently got a pair of HD518......

To my dad it is pointless to spend so much money on headphones where as I could spend it on Hi-Fi systems......

I told him what I got them for.......

He became furious.......

I put on Eric Clapton Unplugged, both of our favorite album, and he heard it......

Halve way through the second song he asks me to pause the song and asks if there is a model like this with better highs and mids......
I tell him about the HD558 and HD598, next thing you know he is on ebay ordering the HD598!!!!!!!!!!

He doesn't have much time to listen to music so I will be using it most of the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I can't wait until I get to visit my parents and play my dad some Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson and some other of his favorite groups through some He-400's. He already enjoyed some HFI-580's, but I feel like he'll implode after hearing all those songs in FLAC format as well as through a nice amp and WASAPI output now. Also, want to play some clasical music or my mother because she normally listens through her ****ty To****ba laptop speakers so I got her some Swan M10's and Grados SR80i's for mothers day :) I'll post some results later Xd

Man you a good son(i'm guessing you're a guy)......

Thanks (and yes I am a guy)! :D

I just can't stand watching my mom listen to her favorite music through some ****ty $5 headphones which she buys like every other week. I remember even seeing her use some of those dreaded Air Canada IEM's they give you on the plane. I swear the frequency range of those is like 500 - ~5khz. I'll certainly post results of how long someone could remain entranced (She zoned out for about 10 minutes on a pair of HFI-580's many months ago).

I've been lucky so far with people reacting on my headphones. After arriving in Brazil for an exchange program I set up my audio station including HFI 580's and HE-400's. First thing I remember hearing was someone saying along the lines of 'Beats are better'. I gladly let people listen and they normally shut up. A set of $120 cans (HFI-580's is the only one's I let people listen to often, I don't trust people with HE-400's) outperformed Beats Studios' over twice the price. Their defense, 'Well, they're ugly'. I'm afraid it's now come down to looks rather than quality nowadays. Granted HE-400's are ugly as sin IMHO, but HFI's are decent. I'm not going to lie though, Beats do look pretty snazzy and I want to get a broken pair of Studios and put some DT 770 Drivers in them if I can, or even scrap out my 580's or buy some M50's and put those drivers in some Beats.

I like the way you think......
It's nice to see people like that......

Over here in Bangladesh you don't get many people with good cans as you can't find any.......

Who ever you do see normally ends up with Beats.......

I for one have to struggle to get my stuff and I have been doing something like you.....

I got a pair of broke studios of ebay for $30 plus shipping and a pair of broken Pro700MKii and now i am building frankenstine!!!!!!!!!

It's still got some time to go till I get any results as I still don't have the 700 in my hands but when I have it I will surely tell you guys about it!!!!!!!!

I don't work there, I play there. I can take a few pictures of me, the facility and everything there. No I'm not famous (yet) and I certainly do not wear Beats :P.

Here's some pictures: (click the pictures for full sized version) (I can post further proof of my identity if you like)

Those are the most recent one's I have. The last two are from about a month ago when we had awful weather which was about 5 weeks ago. Thunder storms everywhere.

Anyways back on topic. I got some Grados Sr80i's shipped to my parents house on time for mothers day :) I'll get a reaction from my father, I'll maybe ask him to record her reaction without her knowing. Her reaction as in just zoning out and listening to some nice tunes.
