I found the least creative name ever. A headphone carrying case making company... Named v-mota. Lol. V-mota. Such originality. Looks nothing like v-moda. Lol. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ILHWZG6/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?qid=1396717883&sr=8-6&pi=SL75

Showed my friend the K240s for the first time, he truly enjoyed them and almost forgot about the lack of deep sub-bass that he heard on the 280s cause the soundstage was so awesome and the headphone has this pleasing airy treble to it. His main comment was that "why can't they make a portable version of these studio headphones so I can walk around with this kind of sound!?"

I think we're taking a look at the K81DJ next, but the cord length and comfort are currently in question. Haven't tried them yet.

I wouldn't quite say murdered, more...

Set upon by rabid dogs, dragged into an alleyway and never heard from again...

(T'was a nice little thread, showed so much promise.)

OK, I'm quoting myself here, so we can do some CPR. It's not unrelated to our thread issue, after all, since so many people bash non-audiophile tastes for the V-shape sound. So here we go. Who's gonna do the mouth to mouth? Seriously, it's not a bad question, is it?

I want another set of either lower-profile portable headphones or maybe IEMs, to serve when walking around, maybe on airplanes, etc., basically in noisier situations or where I don't want to have the bigger 7520s on my head.

So my question is: don't noisier situations lessen the attractiveness of neutral-response headphones? A lot of people criticize the V-shape, but doesn't this shape sometimes serve to make up for atmospheric noise, rather than being intended as something you'd listen to in a quiet environment? I know that if I had my 7520s on on the bus, or walking around downtown, the bass would probably be lost in the low rumbles that were around me. This is aside from the 7520's size, I mean. Does this make sense? So to what extent does a V-shape serve this purpose? I like the idea of the Dunu D1000s for IEMs, but like I said maybe a lower-profile headphone would work.

Thoughts? Recommendations are welcome, but I'm really more interested in the question of the V-shape itself.

Well, my sister was using my headphones for 3 hours when I showed her them. She said they are ugly, but produce such nice sound... I see some promise here. She can tell the difference between ear buds and audiophile cans!!!... Maybe I'll find a nice and stylish can that sounds good, and contains as much detail as my k240's... I even turned bass boost on to see her reaction, and she said, "oh that's nice, but I like it better off."

haha, yeah it is interesting that the K240S somehow manages to make you forget that they don't have a lot of bass just with the rest of their frequencies. I like bass but the cleanness and airy highs the AKGs push out are addictive.

Almost forgot this actually was a reaction from non-audiophiles (my family) to hi-end headphones, enjoy (I sure did):

It's a little messed up on that picture, though.. And it happened some time ago now.

Also, another thing.. There's this dude at school. Made him buy my hfi780 some time ago after he had borrowed them for like a week. Now he keeps borrowing my momentum when at school. Lol :D

I think he finds the hfi 780 kinda unfomortable or something.. Dunno.

First one from me:

Brought my ex-roommate a set of SR80is a few weeks ago when visiting. After two songs playing through Fidelia and my U2 Async DAC, he looks at me and says, "Well sh*t Joe, thanks for ruining my Bose for me." I laughed my ass off!

Today he stopped by on his way out of town and I let him hear my RS1is through the Little Dot with Voskhods and after one song, he looks at me and says, "Well sh*t Joe, thanks for ruining the 80s for me."
