Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II - Page 170

I got my akg k240's today because my dad got them from a different vendor on amazon than the one I thought he did. It came a week earlier than I thought it would! Jimmy buffet has never sounded better!

Good to see you grabbed a headphone that will give you the details in your music smily_headphones1.gif

JVC's gave me some detail when eq'd correctly, but nowhere near this much. I even like these more for bass heavy genres because of the detail. Such perfection... I can say with great certainty that I own the best headphones in my school out of 1000 people. Second runner up is a kid with monster n-tunes. Other than that, its beats, sol republic, apple buds, Samsung buds, etc.

My left ear sticks out a bit more than my right ear, so its touching the driver cover... Kind of annoying, but still the most comfortable cans I've used. More than old and new beats studios, more than JVC ha-m55x, more than Bose, more than... Quite a few brands.

Try DT880, 2 of my non-audiophile friends who went to a store with me to audition several cans were all awed by the comfort of the DT880.

The DT770/880/990's are exceptionally comfortable. Especially with good leatherette pads. Most people seem to prefer the velour.

The DT880's would probably be a good upgrade for you in the future, DisCHORDDubstep, as they are very well-detailed and have decent bass response for an open can.

Exactly the situation I'm in.

Nope, nope, nope. I've yet to see an attractive asian girl, only "models".

Those k240s look pretty nice, and I'm well aware that's about what you can afford now, so I'm not gonna tell you to upgrade right away, (like some people @62ohm) see if you can keep those for a few more years at least. Weird cables on those

I think my upgrade is going to be the top of the line akg k701's... Btw, the k701's are 250$ right now on amazon. If I remember correctly, they are usually 400$. I'm amazed with the akg sound signature. I absolutely love it. Btw, the cord isn't that bad. If I remember correctly, the cord material was changed in 2013. It feels like high quality rubber.

The velour pads are pretty comfy. I'm currently in the process of burning my dt990 pro in.

This.

Multiple reactions to my k240's. Multiple people said the sound was clear compared to theirs, like a fog was just lifted from their music. Only one said that there isn't enough bass... Pretty good set of reactions imo! Interesting how people are so easily persuaded to try them if they look cool... Nobody asked to try the JVC's when I was using them.

I have a half Hawaiian half Japanese friend who would surely change your mind but posting a picture would be downright creepy.

You'll probably find the K701 lacking in bass. You can get that insane detail without losing all of the bass.

Q701's are almost the same as K701's and if you buy them from Amazon Warehouse; they usually come brand new, unopened box. I got mine for $123.
