I feel your pain, I've been there done that WRT production start-ups and MY switch overs.  Lived in a hotel for six months in Georgia due to start-up issues once, but that's another story.

 

Good to hear you got it fixed, look forward to field testing for you. wink_face.gif

dammit. Bought the asgard just before I found out about the magni/modi combo. Thought ah well. But now I feel like the 249 I spent on the Asgard 1 has now lost much of its value. Even more so then when the magni came out. BAAAAAH :(

I wouldn't look at it that way.

It is true that your Asgard 1 has lost some of its value with the arrival of the Asgard 2. But at the end of the day, it still sits one step above the Magni, and its (used) market price will continue to reflect that.

True. Just hate seeing things lose value. Ah well. The way I look at it its an excuse to upgrade to a new amp and pass on the handmedowns to the girlfriend ^_^

The very first second you buy anything, it has already lost value.  In this hobby, you'll very rarely get ahead or turn a profit.  It's all about overspending for minimal improvement.  Enjoy the music and your Asgard.  I know this will ruffle some feathers, especially on those who spend uber dollars, but I have no problem saying the Asgard 1 is about 90% the amp my $1500 tube amp is.  It's that good.  Now, fire up some music through it and get lost in the music.

I have the Asgard 1, which I bought just months ago.  No way will I complain when a company improves its product and then offers it at the same price as the old version.  That's called progress.  It's good for everyone.  Without it I would still be listening to my 8 transistor AM radio with a single ear piece.
