Well, I don't know if it for you, but for me music is fun. And naturally you can get the most out of the music if the technical aspects of the equipment support the recording. Adding bass "the way artists intended it" (quote unquote Dr. Dre) can be more fun, but mostly for a smaller margin of recordings.

Customs used to be a professional tool for artists - the 3DD can try to change that and I wish the company success as in that their newest product will not die again.

Ain't that the truth!

I was just having a bit of fun with you. It's too bad "fun" always means extra bass. I tend to equate that with a headache. I think it's safe to guess this one will be a bass first sig.

UM has never marketed their customs to the professional musician, at least that I've noticed, and has been mostly about personal listening. I think all they are trying to say is that they are not going to rest on their laurels; to be satisfied with past success and to consider further effort unnecessary.

Innovation occurs in many ways. Accident being a prominent and primary factor of innovation throughout human history.

Anyway, I think it's taking this all a bit to seriously. Let's have some fun!

What are the other ones? I don't recall any UM's products dying so far.

I've read a lot on Head-Fi about UM products and none have previously been described as 'bad sounding' or 'poorly conceived'.

The problem is likely marketing not product.  When people for whom English is a second language are typing descriptions the subtle implications are often misunderstood.

I'm taking a gamble with this one.  However based on UM's track record to date I'm hoping the worst that can happen is it's at least 'good'.

I wish we knew how it would sound.  It's kinda like a slap in the face by offering a pre-order without any type of frequency chart or any type of explanation of the sound.  This IEM is just way too vague, it's hyped up a bit by having 3 dynamics, but there is nothing more to it than that.

 Thank you for your understanding.

Clarification: No UM products are dying. In fact, we are selling more Merlins than ever!

English is my second language, and if anyone can send me some segments of texts with better marketing lines, I'm more than willing to change the current ones. The idea I wanted to express is that we are constantly churning out new products for you guys to enjoy. Oh well, I didn't expect to have serious analysis into what I typed, haha.

Edit: I apologize to the 3DD CIEM pre-order customers. Rather morbid question to ask about re-salability even before a product is released.

All of our CIEMs can be re-shelled, including 3DD of course.

I'm happy to help out there if need be, in terms of translation, but don't look for me if you need good tacky lines etc.

Not rotate to open. The huge hole on the faceplate is the adjustable bass port, and we used magnets to work it.

To be fair, most CIEMs come out that way. Little is known about it unless it is passed around a little for people to review then the hype generates.

I'd love to try a UM product. Always fancied the Merlin. And this 3DD sounds interesting too. Just got the 1plus2 so I can't afford anything else :(

Dear stephen, can you explain why the discount for universal was for one day only and that no information was transmit to thus who subscribed for 3dd information few weeks ago.

I just received the promotion for custom unit only after the universal units discount was already finished.

No information regarding universal model has been send to us.

So i missed the shot.

Thank

You subscribed to email newsletter from Unique Melody global(uniquemelody.co, black page design, run by Australians I think), they will offer their discount soon, maybe it will be even bigger(or maybe smaller)?

Now you can get preorder on unique-melody.com, white page design, US distributor run by Stephen Guo.

So you can see, it's action of two different subjects.

I think Bina has a pretty good insight of it.

Dear Stephen, what about the subscribers of Unique Melody UK? I didn't receive any email yet. I was interested in universals and if the discount is really tempting maybe customs, but I have a feeling like I already missed some things.
