Source : iPhone 5s
Dac : Cypher Labs Class Solo Original
Amps : Cypher Labs Duet
Wagnus Epsilon S
Iem : UM Miracle with tralucent gold cable first edition
Headphone : Fostex th 900
Cable : mini to mini diy by Alex
Lightning to USB made in japan.

Hiss : on par very minimal
Power : Duet has more power than Wagnus

High : Wagnus has better clarity , it is slightly more clear and clean
Mid : Wagnus has better pronounce and sweeter and cleaner
Bass : better detail and cleaner bass
Soundstage : Wagnus has wider and Taller
Separation : Wagnus has better separation that we can detect better the individual instrument

Overall : Wagnus has better sq than Duet , these two amps have the same sound signature
Wagnus is better than Duet about 20%
Wagnus can produce individual instrument very clear and clean and better pronounce

For 600 USD Duet is very good amps has more power than Wagnusv
Wagnus about 1000 USD is still my best amp in term of Sound Quality in single ended

IMO

Thank you

Greetings, peeps!  I am wondering if anyone here has paired up the Epsilon S with a tera player and the TH-900's? I've read that the Epsilon and TH-900's are a great match here, but what about paired with a tera for source?  Just wondering what the synergy is with that combo.  If anyone can chime in, that would be awesomeness!! Thanks.

Hello,

does the Wagnus accept standard AA batteries (like Duracell)?

That would be an important consideration for me...

Thank you,

David.

I was wondering the same thing, too.

Someone in Taiwan posted something about replacing two 1.2V NiMH batteries (or 1.5V) with a dummy (filler) plus a single 3.2V LiFePO4 battery like this

http://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=180&t=3786933

That resulted in better sound quality as well as reduced weight.

I found the highest capacity to be 1,200-mAh from China.

This is the dummy (filler) so at the get two of them just in case

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=19628561824

Two 3.2V batteries for 7 bucks / 42 RMB

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=21916391337

100V~240V charger specifically made for 3.2V batteries, *NEVER* insert a dummy (filler) or any 1.2V/1.5V batteries unless you wanna blow things up

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=26922316976

For Bialbero Epsilon S or Korg MR-2 requiring two 1.2V/1.5V batteries, the voltage is about 3.0V so we only need a single 3.2V battery.

Basically *always* leave one dummy (filler) there and don't touch that at all. Only swap that single 3.2V battery once the power has run out.

For Bialbero Epsilon S MAD-BK or Sony PCM-D100/D50 etc. requiring four 1.2V/1.5V batteries, the voltage is about 6.0V so we only need two 3.2V batteries.

Similarly, leave a pair of dummies (fillers) there without having to touch them afterwards. Just swap two 3.2V batteries once they've gone flat.

Not very safe to send batteries in the mail these days so Rudi could wait until your next trip to Hong Kong. Then George could help you out with the dummy (filler) / battery / charger etc.

Thank you for the great info!

Wow, learning new things about AA batteries!  Didn't know there are LiFePO4 batteries in AA sizes!  Neither did I know there are AA-sized "fillers"

The concern about the battery requirement was the reason I went with the Kojo KM-01, which just needs 1 AAA Duracell battery...  I'm sure I'm missing out on the superior Epsilon S sound...

You're very welcomed.

Please let me remind everyone that voltage MUST be 3.2V because anything with 3.7V will probably fry an equipment for good.

In addition, ALWAYS pair up 1 dummy (filler) with 1 battery so the count is equal to each other. For instance:

0V + 3.2V = 3.2V (1 dummy + 1 battery)

0V + 3.2V + 0V + 3.2V = 6.4V (1 dummy + 1 battery + 1 dummy + 1 battery)

So on and so forth.

And then just a little bit of tips. If we weren't too confident about batteries from China, we could always find something cheap for testing purpose.

Toys for children like cars or robots could be OK. Just make sure your kids aren't playing them anymore, LOL
