New battery for ipod

Hello I hope I posted this in the right section but I need a new battery for my ipod 5.5 30gb I already have a relatively new one (not sure what kind tho) and rockbox totally kills it in like 2 hours. So I need the absolute most powerful internal battery for it not external cause I'm already runnin an amp. Thanks a million

I think your battery must be a dud. My 80GB 5.5 doesn't appear to have ever been opened up, yet with Rockbox I got over 20 hours of playback when I ran a battery bench. Sometimes the aftermarket batteries are of questionable quality, so I suspect the one you have is no good.

Ok so what would the best and most reliable replacement be?

I've had decent luck with a replacement battery for my 5th Gen Video/Classic from here: http://www.ipodjuice.com

 

Did it myself, pretty easy to do.  Most lithium batteries come from a just a few places in the world, so brands are becoming less and less significant.  Prices and included tools are the bigger difference.  I really had ZERO issues replacing the battery myself.

Not sure what battery you have tried but here is one you may want to take a look. In addition to replacing the battery, I strongly suggest you to consider swapping the stock HDD for a 32GB CF card using the Tarkan adapter. From my experience, this swap will greatly improve the battery performance. The ipod will be much lighter and boots noticeably faster as well. CF card will be also more reliable than the stock HDD as it has no moving mechanical parts. If you need more storage, consider 64GB or even 128GB instead of 32GB CF card.

My understanding the battery for the 5.5g/80GB is different from the 5.5g/30GB. I also notice the 5.5g/80GB stock battery has performed much better than the stock one for the 30GB model.
