Ykyaaw your sitting in Best Buy reviewing every model they have, the best part is when the guy in charge of that departments starts asking YOU questions about the products he's selling lol

Ykyaaw [on a sad note] you know your REALLY deep into audiophila when you finally stop using bass boosts :O, I don't know when but recently I've found all my Hard EQ bass boost amps to be muddy! FooBars crummy little +4 db boost has been more than enough for me recently! [I use dt 990s btw]

I stopped using any EQ of  any sorts a long time ago. The only EQing i ever do is a little bass boost on open backs from my E7 when im out and about, simply because lower frequencies get blocked out when in public.

I EQ all the time.

As MalVeauX said (other than Heya, Very best,), "Equalizers are your friend, not the enemy of audiophiles."

Another eq user here, i'd rather use an android with third party player with eq over a dap with good dac that does't have an eq.
Eq is a tool. Not a fomula. It can help or destroy your sound or even do nothing.

I use EQu for iOS. I can't imagine life without it ever again.

Kinda weird, cause I often don't find myself eq'ing any of my headphones, I kinda enjoy the little quirks each have smily_headphones1.gif

I don't get it.
For some reason saying EQ is blasphemy

But mention a nice vacuum tube to change the sound and people will be all over it.

+1
Poweramp is awesome biggrin.gif

And@kiont
Probably cause eq is free and it seems to be 'cheating'. (better sound for free??)
And also mostly cause they don't know how to use an eq properly.

Oh god I agree so much. Been having fun EQing my HA-FX40 recently, really eliminate the IEM's mistakes, though I don't expect it to sound like a $200 ones

True, beside sometime I saw a guy mentioning EQ and someone else would be like "nooooo you cant do that its not listening to music the way artists intended". Sounds pretty BS to me because every headphone is different from each other no matter how neutral they are. Different ears, differents headphones, different hearing, enough said.

yup,

My EDM I like to listen a specific way. So I eq amp and get a headphone to match what I want, where is with traditional music such as Post rock classical and orchestral I prefer to let my hard ware color the music!. I like the way my different amps and headphones change teh sound. Just part of the fun letting all the hard ware change teh sound. Using an eq feels like cheating lol
