+1. My friends keep asking me, "Why are you still buying CDs? They are dinosaur, we can just use Spotify now"

Yeah I argued to my friend (who is getting into Head-Fi soon) that the problem with streaming is that I like to actually like to OWN my music, to which he didn't have an answer and agreed with me. Also, I like to have a physical copy of my music, even if there isn't a CD available I still like to own a copy locally.

And most importantly, lossless :D

TBH I don't really use lossless as the type of music I listen to doesn't really warrant it but I hate people like TekSyndicate that say lossless is useless and just doesn't make a difference. It does, just depends on what you listen to. 192kbps can sound as good as lossless if you listen to Chiptune.

+1 again. I see nothing wrong with 320kbps, in fact I have more music from Spotify Premium than physical CDs / lossless. The reason why I gather lossless are;

1. Some tracks/albums are simply schiit on Spotify as opposed to their CD/lossless counterpart,

2. Like you, I want to collect the physical CDs of my favorite artists for collection purposes,

3. Some artists simply have terrible recording/mixing/mastering so lossless would not sound better than 320kbps, or even 192kbps.

Chiptune uses gameboy sounds so those tiny speakers are the music. I have quite a large collection of chiptune. It's the only part of my library that's in AAC. Rest is in ALAC.

musical preferences/tastes shouldn't have anything to do with being an audiophile other than how well it was mastered/recorded : /

You either don't get it or didn't watch it...

It's a joke... you ought to just enjoy it instead of being objective.

You're right ling ling, your.are.right. It doesn't.

YKYAA when you care more about how the gear sounds than the music. (Since we're not here about enjoyment)
