anyone else use studio monitors for audio on their computer?

i tried out several sets of computer speakers and couldn't find one that i liked so i started looking into studio monitors and ended up getting the KRK Rokit 5's with a focusrite  scarlett 2i2 interface. the sound is great. perfectly balanced and you can color them with an EQ to make them sound how you want. i've also used them for recording with the interface which is killer.

anyone else?

here's a pic of my setup

Looks nice.

You might get even better performance if you can somehow contrive to raise the KRKs up by about a foot or so.

Ideally they should be on separate stands behind the desk but the most important point is the get the cones at ear level and eliminate surface reflections.

I use a similar set up to yours. A MOTU Ultralite interface and ADAM monitors. I agree with you that the pro, and even semi pro, audio manufacturers offer quite extraordinary value.

yeah i've been trying to figure out how i want to go about setting up my desk. i need a bit more desk space for the midi keyboard and stuff. i'm planning on making some stands for them, just haven't had the chance to get over to use my dad's wood tools. i usually just lower my chair down til my head is level with them when i'm really listening to something(using an actual office chair now instead of the folding chair)

I have a set of KRK VXT4's running from a Burson Conductor.

Sound is great.

very nice! my dad actually referred to himself as an audiophile recently, i knew he liked good quality audio but had no clue he was very serious about it at all cuz he doesn't really have any high end audio equipment aside from his home theater setup. i showed them to him and now i think he's considering doing something similar even though he doesn't do music at all.
