Driver manufacturers and sources for DIY headphones.

Thread Starter

The last few days i have been looking in to making my own pair of headphones, and the main problem i have had 'til now is finding proper speakerdrivers.

After looking through various forums and sites this is the list of manufacturers/suppliers have found:

- PUI Audio

- CUI Inc

- Kobitone

- Hy-Q

- Malloroy Sonalert

- Tangband speakers

- ICC/Intervox

- RS Components

- Maplin Electronics

- Jameco Valuepro

Of the ones above it seems to me that either PUI, CUI, ICC/Intervox or Kobitone are the best candidates.

Does anyone have any expirence with these brands or know of any others?

Help will be greatly appreciated.

Here is a THREAD I made about surplus driver from a supposedly high quality headphones.

700

The price is attractive, you just hope it is because of the quantity they stock and not proportional to the quality of the driver.
