HiFiMan HE-400s for now, maybe HE-500s down the road.

Anyone listen to the SL with LCD-2s? Seriously thinking about getting this sucker, but I'd like some impressions first.

That Soloist SL is a great deal. They have them on Amazon PRIME with free 2-day shipping right now too.... I just bought the Burson  "Conductor" from them last night myself. Can't wait to get my hands on it...  Lots of reviews pairing the Soloist with LCD-2s and HE500s. The SL has 2 watts per channel vs. 4 watts with the full sized Soloist, so you might want to take that into consideration if you want a more poweful unit.

Yeah that's why I want to hear some impressions. I have it plugged into Magni right now and it's plenty loud, but it sounds incomplete. If the soloist sl sounds good paired with the LCD-2 I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Well I went ahead and bit the bullet after talking to Todd from TTVJ. He said the amp pairs very well with LCD-2s and there's a 30 day return policy with no restocking fee so I can check it out with no real loss. Stoked to receive it and I'll post up my opinions on it when I get it, even though most people on here don't like how I describe audio.

Congratulations! I can't wait for mine to arrive. I have high hopes this is going to be the one!  Good luck to us both!  beerchug.gif

Has anyone in here compared the Soloist Amp section to the DACMini Amp? I'd love to hear some impressions of how they stack up against each other. I know it's a long shot, but... anyone?

Look at the Soloist amp main thread, Zilch0md posted some stuff about DACmini and Soloist.

So far I am very happy with the SL.  I'm using it with a pair of HE-400s and it sounds awesome.  Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience with these cans (or wide enough experience with other amps) to fairly compare the SL.  I will be testing it against a modded Shiit Lyr soon, and will post some feedback then...

Got mine monday. Pairs amazingly well with the LCD-2s. Loving it.

Hey Panda,

Im fairly new to all this, have similar set up as you, lcd2.2 with m&m stack right now, thinking about getting soloist, but i cannot decide  whether getting the SL or full size. Can you elaborate on your step up from magni to SL (how sound changes) and why did u decide to settle with the SL.

Your input will be very much appreciated.

Best regards,
