Formula 1-fi (Read the First Post!) - Page 58

Yeah I'm very happy to hear tire sounds a little better now. As an ex autocrosser and current Gran Turismo junky, tire sounds have always been very important to me. More than engine sounds when it really comes down to making a fast lap happen. Maybe that's why I'm fine with the new sound no one else seems to like.

So before we get to qualifying, does anyone feel bold enough to bet against a Mercedes victory?

I'll take that bet. I suspect a Ferrari or Dead Bull on this one.

If it's Vettel the whining will know no mortal bounds...

Well I'm betting Newey is the fastest to adapt. However with Baron Haarkonen and Prince Alonso both at the Scud, the pressure will be on to RD the car and get their stuff together lest they all be looking for jobs for not being able to get a car together that two world champions can make use of.

We do live in interesting times:)

Is Ricciardo a better driver than Vettel? With both having similar cars it shows.

Only if Rosberg is a better driver than Hamilton and Raikkonen is a better driver than Alonso... Just because he's been ahead twice when Vettel did have/may have had issues doesn't mean he's better. Is Ricciardo close to Vettel on one-lap pace? Definitely yes. We'll have to wait for the rest of the season before we can say he's better, but he is a lot closer than I expected.

Happy to see Raikkonen more on top of his car again as well, and I hope he can have a trouble-free race so we can see something closer to the true state of the Ferrari drivers. Alonso must have made some sort of mistake, but even so it's clear Raikkonen was a lot closer this time and maybe even ahead anyway.

Race win tomorrow?

Race Prediction (Click to show)
I'm going with Hamilton again. I still have to be convinced Rosberg can beat Hamilton in a straight race when nothing goes wrong for Hamilton. I'm willing to be convinced, it just hasn't happened yet.

Assuming both Mercs finish, I'm going to go with... An optimistic Raikkonen for third. He's done well here in the past, and he looks in better form this weekend. I think the Williams cars will lose pace in the race, but we'll see.

I don´t understand why you make ahead being closer :). Do the teammates need to be 2 second ahead in qualifying for being "ahead".

Riccardo seem to be on quite a level playing field and it looks like he is allowed to race Vettel. But man has he got bad luck so far :(

He was clearly stronger then Vettel this weekend I don´t think it was only "power issues".

Raikkonen got a new front end so hopefully he will get a car that suit his driving style better. It´s not really strange that the car would suit Alonso better at least initially.

7 years in the team after all.

He is faster then Alonso there is no doubt about that in my mind but I wouldn´t expect Ferrari to just dump Alonso in favour of Raikkonen.

Rosberg has beaten Hamilton fair and square many times. Hamilton is surely faster over a single lap but I think they are quite an even couple.

Remember how bad Nico made Michael Schumacher look :)

Spoiler Alert! Don't Read if you Haven't Seen the Race Yet

Spoiler////..... What a great race! I have to give it to Hamilton because Nico was hounding him, with the softer tires, the last ten laps! And Kudos to Sergio Perez for getting third. Awesome stuff..... Spoiler////

Superb race obligatory yellow flag with 15 laps left please.

This season is getting boring (to me). It is not much different to the 2013 season, with only the team that dominate the season changed.
