Ron wanted McLaren to have 2 young talented drivers rather than having 2 old, despite proven, drivers.

I cannot see Honda being big on Alonso. He just does not seem to fit in with their whole ideology. Button sure as he has history with them. If it was a move to attract sponsorship, then the team in particular and the sport in general is in a bigger mess than anybody thinks.  Much as I am an Alonso enthusiast and would like to see him contend for another WDC, reality again arises and his "best before" date rapidly approaches. The younger-faster crowd is pushing in from the bottom and the seasoned crowd at the top all have better rides and career management.

Can't disagree with any of that really.

It pains me, being somewhat of an ALO fan, that all this is happening.  But hey, if it works out in the end... even if not for ALO or BUT but for the two guys that take their seats, then all is well.  Long term.  That's what Dennis is talking about, but everyone expects the here and now instant gratification.

I keep sayin. Alonso is a Harvard Business School case study in sport career mis management. It quite pains me to watch it all unfold.

I think the big winner here will be minimag if he can hang on till the dust shakes out. He may inherit a great finished product in a year or two.

The best part about ALO is that it keeps happening.

However I'm failing to see minimag come around.

Could be mistaken Ron, but ahem, he did have a contract at the SCUD as well, ahem.
