whats amps do laptop internal speakers use.

I was just wondering about what kind of amps do internal laptop speakers use. Specifically the macbook retina speakers, I find them remarkably usable for casual listening and it seemed that the internal DAC power might not be enough by itself to drive such volume levels.

The newer Macbooks do have decent amping for low-impedance cans, but if you've never tried a decent external amp, I highly suggest you do. It's like night and day.

 

(Sorry I don't have the specifics on what internal amps the macbooks use, probably something cheap)

I meant the speakers not the headphone amp.

The speaker amplification would be even harder to get specs on, and wouldn't you want to know more about the speakers themselves in that case? I'm sure someone's measured them before.
