King Sound Emperor: New Electrostatic Headphones! - Page 41

Ok n3rdling, I'll give it a shot. It's all up to justin now wink.gif.

BTW, I switched to using in ear mics nowadays, i have measured wachara's phones but couldn't find time to process the data and check repeatibility. i am fairly confident it's going to work though. Also need to work on some compensation curve, I need to remember the haircut I had at the time of measurement lol smily_headphones1.gif.

If you get the chance, it would be interesting to see measurements both with ear-mic-compensation and flat plate. As far as the 30 and 70 Hz blip, makes sense that they are a function of diaphragm / ear cavity / earpad. Pressing them firmly against a flat plate might squeeze the pads, may change cavity volume, and perhaps bass response.

I also don't think you'll have repeatability issues with a a flat plate, but not sure about ear-mics. Would be very interesting to see results with your 727A and BHSE.

I've done that, putting LNS drivers in the HE90 shell while taking care to properly seal the baffle.  The HE90 frame is a very snug fit on my head so there is a good deal of pressure on the pads making for a better seal.  It's always fun to see what these drivers are truly capable of...

On a side note I went the other way and fitted LNS drivers to a Sigma housing.  That was... ehhh... interesting.

It will and it is very easy to measure that.

This is what Kingsound are saying for the pricing of the new cans:

USD1,050.00 - KS-H2+M-10
USD2,050.00 - KS-H2+M-20

$800 or bust. No deal at $1K+.

Say what $1-2K? :/

Given how horrible the amps are I think most would like to know how much the headphones are on their own. No way that I'm buying this again though...

You gotta be kidding at those prices.. It makes the Stax SR-5 look like a once in a lifetime bargain.

Thats for the amp and the new headphone. The current package is $1000/2000 right so its $50 more than the current price for the SS and tube

Only one person comes to mind that owns all the mentioned except the Kingsound, that would be wink.

I don't have the float, just the Ergo AMT.

I've got them all but the Taket's and I know of one person here who has (or has had) them all.

I'd really like to hear the Taket at some point.
