For Sale:
Custom Objective 2 W/ NJM4556 Opamps and NJM2068/NE5532

Will Ship To: CONUS

I'm selling my Objective 2 today. First I'll say that I love this amp. The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm getting a combo unit I helped design that includes an O2 in it already (Read the Project H link in my signature if you're curious.)

I purchased this unit from Mayflower electronics in June of 2012 with a very cool Bamboo front panel and silver case.

It uses the highly regarded NJM4556 opamps for the output stage as well as a NJM2068 for the gain stage, which according to the creator of the O2, "At gains less than 4X nothing overall could beat the NJM2068 in the O2’s gain stage. This is especially true if you’re concerned about power consumption for battery operation."

I can also give you an NE5532 for the gain stage, which he says: "At gains of 5X and higher nothing could beat the NE5532 except by a few dB in noise performance."

The gains in this unit are set at the default of 3x and 6x.

The batteries only last 5-6 hours, as this unit has been used for about 9 months now.

More pictures available on request.

My eBay feedback can also be found here: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=stuffandthings509&ftab=AllFeedback

If you could like to chat about it, you can also email me, it's [my username]@gmail.com, or call/text (509) 850-0680

Price of $120 is OBO and does not include shipping. It does include the O2 amp, charger, and batteries.

Thanks for looking!

Well respected member on the forums, and though I haven't bought any audio gear from mech yet, we have arranged to let him take a few CDs off my hands. While there has been numerous delays on my part, mech has remained patient and understanding throughout the transaction, all signs of a good and proper seller. Needless to say, highly trustworthy.

I'm interested in this one my self! I like that it has batteries [which means it's transportable...]

You could theoretically use the O2 with anything that output sound, but it will probably sound it's best coming from a DAC with a line level output like an iPod LOD or a dedicated DAC unit. That being said, if you needed more power from your sound card, this would give it to you.
Just beware that any harmonic defects in the sound card would still be present, and may actually be worse when amplified. (If there are any that is, I have very little experience with sound cards.)
