BEST AFTERMARKET CABLES FOR LCD3, HD800 & HE-6

As the tittle suggests, I'm looking to buy the BEST.

Although price is not an object, this does not automatically mean the most expensive. Just the best.

 

My setup :

Esoteric K01>Cardas Golden Reference Balanced/Kubala Sosna Fascination Balanced>Apex Pinnacle>>>

 

Please only recommend based on personal experience.

I think the best bang for your buck aftermarket, and the best looking is Norse Audio. I have had 5 cables from Trevor so far, cheaper than probably most of the competition. Just great well made cables with exceptional customer service.

Fully endorse your opinion on both the Norse Cables as well as Trevor's fantastic customer service.

I myself have a half a dozen cables from him.

 

Seriously no offence meant but am NOT looking for the 'best bang for buck'. Simply the 'best'.

Again, no offense whatsoever.

The Toxic Silver Poison is far better than the stock HE6 cable. It's elevated the HE6's from being my 3rd favourite phone,after the LCD2.2 and T1, to now my favourite.

 

I have ordered the new Silver Widow cables for both my HE6 and LCD2.2 so hoping for even bigger improvements.

 

Toxic Audio make some superb cables.

If it helps in reducing sibilance and treble energy, I'd be very interested.

Could you briefly describe the difference between the stock & Toxic cables.

I actually bought the Silver Poison to increase treble energy,as well as other things with my HE6's. I had always considered them to be rather warm slightly subdued sounding.

I knew I had an fine source and an amp capable of running them very well but realized the weaklink would be the stock cable. I was actually thinking of selling them but thought I would replace the cable more out of curiousity than anything else.

I was not expecting anywhere near the level of improvements I got. The improvements were across the board and that also led to more treble energy and clarity but no extra sibilance but don't forget I thought the HE6's were warm sounding before the cable. I would say that the re-cabled HE6's are my most neutral phone.

 

If you find the HE6's bright then Toxic do some great copper cables that may suit you better, I just happen to prefer silver cables.
