Dilemma: I will heading to Hong Kong to claim my free 6200 dollars! Buy red shure se535!

Hi guys, long story short. I will be heading to Hong Kong a week after, for a day just to claim my 6200 dollar check for free! So I will have extra dollar to burn!

But my dilemma is that if I buy the earphones in Hong Kong, I will save thousand of taiwanese dollars! BTW, I'm currently studying in Taiwan for 3 years. The thing is, the limited edition in taiwan retailed $19900! in Hong Kong, it retailed $3900, which is 14,696 dollar NT. I would save 8667 NT dollar! The regular edition in taiwan retailed 15300! in hk, it retailed 3600, which is NT13565! So I would save NT9798! Here's the real dilemma, if I bought those earphones in HK, Taiwan Shure will not valid my warranty. If they got damaged, then my earphones will be as cold as lemon!

What I should i do, if I buy the regular edition here in taiwan, I pay 2 thousand more+. It's a thousand more than the limited edition in HONG KONG! But if I chose the limited edition here in TW, I will pay 5 thousand dollar! So in actuality, I gain more value if I buy the limited edition, since they cost so expensive here in TW!

Tell me what should I do. Unless if Taiwan shure will cover my warranty if i buy them in hong kong!

Thanks guys!

I am confused. It would be better to convert the currency to dollars or euros. From Shure website:

http://www.shure.co.uk/support_download/faq#warranty

QUESTION: I purchased my earphones abroad, will this affect my warranty?
ANSWER: The Shure warranty is global so as long as you have proof of purchase to show the warranty is still current then we will replace for you.

The warranty is only valid if the earphones have been purchased directly from Shure or from a Shure-authorized reseller.

In other words, Check if the HK seller is an authorized dealer.  If it is, there is nothing to worry about, however, did you realize 3900HK dollars are 500$?

No worries buying from an authorized dealer in Hong Kong, as Shure Asia is Headquartered in Hong Kong......

LOL, who are you going to for these prices??!? The price in Taiwan isn't that high for the SE535, regular or LTD... in fact, the prices are quite similar to those in HK... maybe marginally more. Shure prices don't vary that much from region to region.

EDIT: PM me if you want to goto stores that don't rip you off, and are still authorized dealers...

EDIT2: Just heard from an authorized Shure dealer in Taiwan --- SE535LTD-J is 14000 NT, a far cry from the 19900 you were told!!!

Don't buy SE535/LTD, keep your SE425 and use your money for beer and maybe some dumplings imo.

Hey Tomscy, if you live in taipei and do know some authorize dealers, please post the address or link to the site i can go to.

I'm not familiar around taipei, plus I tend to buy my items from books.com.tw, that's the site i purchased my se425 for 9300nt! very expensive!

YGPM... you need to goto the stores themselves. Buying online will not get you anywhere. You also need to know people who know the ropes. Like me. wink.gif

Thank you Tomscy2000!

Then I don't need to rush in a day in HK to buy my earphones, I will come back to TW to buy instead!

BTW Shure earphones are EXTREMELY expensive in CANADA! 10 years ago, these shure earphones where like 699 to 899 CN dollar a pair! Now that I'm in Taiwan, I can finally get to own the world's most renown brand. The flagship model limited edition!

I understand that you've been longing for the SE5353, but I can assure you that there are better earphones out there for much less money.

Do a little research around this forum, then decide what you want to do.

what he said

save your hard-earned money and buy something else

even re-262 for 120$ may be a better buy especially for such a low price (120$ at amazon.com)
