Hi guys, i need some suggestion. I used shure se 215 and i loved them but their cable is broken now. i wanna buy an new iem.

I want bass but not muddy, i want deep and punchy bass.

i generally listen metal/rnb/hip hop so im little confused about what im gonna buy. For metal i go for armature iems but everyone says their bass is not enough for rnb or bassy musics. so i dont know what to buy.

i have some iems on my mind : ie8,ckm500,shure se425.

İm waitin for your answers thank you..

When did you get the SE215s? More than 2 years ago? Should have a warranty. I thought the cable on it is also replaceable.

The IE8's are good, but a bit slow for metal. The W3's are balanced armatures with lots of bass with a good punch. The SE425's are not really known for bass, so maybe not those either. How much are you looking to spend?

I'm guessing your wanting to spend around $100 to $150 ;) but I don't think you can find the IE8 or SE425 new for that much.  Some good ones under $150 are the Rockit Sounds R-50, TDK BA200, TDK IE800 and Hifiman RE262.  The R-50 and BA200 are good all arounders and the RE262 is a very nice mid-centric IEM which is great for vocals as is the BA200.

First thank you. I like westones but im little confused about um and true fit series? Someone selling um3x but im afraid to buy it. What is the difrrence between them? someone says um3x more flat than true fit/w3.

I don't have experience with much of the UM series, just the UM3X. My impression is they are more monitor types whereas the W series is more geared to consumers. The UM3X is very different from the W3. The W3 has more bass (although both have more than a neutral amount for sure). The UM3X has more forward mids, whereas they are more recessed by comparison on the W3. Treble is more sparkly on the W3 - smoother on the UM3X. W3 also seems more spacious compared to the UM3X.

If you prefer an intimate and more flat sound, the UM3X is a good choice from Westone - but if you listen to EDM, Rap and stuff - I'd go for the W3. The RE262 is indeed good for vocals as well, but pretty hard to power properly, unfortunately.

i heard the tdk ie800 is excellent. I just ordered a pair.
I heard they have a great midrange and compare to the tdk ba200 but have more treble (im thinking of ordering the ba200 too).
in a poll the tdk ba200 is more preferred than the re262. I have the re262 (broken though) and they are absolutely fantastic. so im excited to be looking for the the ie800s.
some crazy abc logic isn't it?
