Welcome Tatco! 

 

For those who are not familiar, Lear makes some very nice custom IEMs. Their LCM-2B is a competitive dual driver entry level model, and their LCM-5 is a very high end flagship design that competes with the best on the market.

I actually already have the LCM-5 and LCM-2b. Reviews in my profile if you're interested. The 2b is a competent entry in the budget range, but the LCM-5 is really something special - unique among the $1K flagship range.

I have also reviewed the LCM-5 which you can find on my website and on here and just received the new amp. I just started a thread in portable amps section. I would check it out as it has some features I have never seen before!

I am interested in LCM5 but any clue how to get it in EU? Some brands have distributors in UK, it makes things incredibly easier especially if you consider EU tax problems and all. Does Lear have any distributor in this area?

I have been around Hong Kong for at least the last 10 years, and have been many times to more reputed local distributor of portable audio like "Mingo" and "Kingsound", each of which operates its own retail sales network comprising several sales outlet for demo by customers in Hong Kong.

Still, these local distributor of portable audio by their very nature cannot aspire to the scale of other established audio distributor of international acclaimed brandnames like Jadis, Krell, etc.

I have not heard of your mother company "Hong Kong Forever Source Digital" before, notwithstanding as you claimed is the most well known professional portable audio products retailer in Hong Kong and growing very faster than before. So I must have missed it.

Where exactly are the locations of your sales outlets in Hong Kong whereby one can demo your products ?
 
From the website of Hong Kong Forever Source Digital, the only address listed is Good Hope Building in Mong Kok. For those who have never been to Hong Kong, it is one of the most densely populated cities in the World, and Mongkok itself is proliferated with smallish leased office premises accomodating at most 3 to 4 staffs.
 
Here is a picture from Google of the very Good Hope Building in Mongkok, the identity of the building can be clearly seen at the lower left corner of the picture :

It may well be just my wild guess, but if your manufacturing base is located in mainland People Republic of China ("PRC"), it would serve to clarify your warrantly policy and does it involve shipping back the units to the PRC for repair / servicing.
 
I am suggesting because there are certain fellow head-fi members who brought from the PRC are having a real hard time properly getting after-sales-warranty service either because the counterpart is not taking it seriously, or failure in communication with the distributor's local PRC staff because they only understand the indigenous language but not English.
 
Having been involved in business ventures in the PRC, I am more aware of how that happens than many fellow Head-Fi members. I have personally been addressing enquiries like these either through PM or over internet forum. Here is one that appear just 2 weeks back, where the member wrote :
 
"I'm trying to communicate with Audio-Gd regarding an issue that has popped up when using my Reference 5.32 with my Roc SA. I've gone back and forth with Kingwa a couple of times, but I think we're having trouble understanding each other."

 

 
Mind you, Audio-Gd and Kingwa are amongst the more reputed Chinese audio manufacturers both in Hong Kong and these forums.
 
As the title of this thread said it well, you see your mission as here to serve we fellow Head-Fi members better, and I commend you for that. I guess one of the means you do it is by distinguishing "Hong Kong Forever Source Digital" from those other Chinese distributors our fellow members has ran into problems.

As Forever Source Digital is a company which not only or mainly in retailing headphones ,

so that you may found that we are not the most well known or biggest in the related industry  if compared with other Headphone store.
