I asked myself the same question when they were 150$. I assume it was just the serial number because no differences were shown in the specs between them.

150$ When was that? Why does the price rose that much?

I am close to belive that is all about a serial number, but the different price on amazon between L1/28 and L1/00 make me doubt and also the fact that the sellers say "L1/..." instead of just "L1", as if 28 or 00 were part of the model and not just a serial number.

The slash has nothing to do with it, when i bought my X1's they also said X1/00. A quick google search and Cnet says it's a parts number so i don't think there are differences between them, so just buy either.
