Staal, thanks for your input. I managed to demo the 1964 V6 and also the UM Merlin (unfortunately the Miracle was not available) I preferred the overall sound signature of the 1964 V6, but I couldn't get a very good seal with either. I was told that the UM Miracle was 'better in every way' by the store manager. Considering the extra £150 I wondered whether, generally, the UM Miracle is considered a better purchase.
I listen to a wide variety of genres from Metal to Classical, so I'd ideally like a CIEM which can work across the full spectrum of genres. If I were to lean to one though it would be rock music. I'll power the headphones with an iPod initially, but I'm keen to have a look at the Colorfly C3 as an alternative. Seal is important to me, I've had my impressions done, so fingers crossed these fit well. I currently have some IE8's and Grado 225's I like the soundstage of the IE8'S but prefer the Grado sound overall. Sorry that I cannot use any more technical jargon, I'm new to the complex world of CIEMS and I'm just hoping to make a good choice in the headphones I purchase.
Cheers,
