I agree that H-100 is not for everyone, and its mid is pretty bad, I just like everything else about it...

 

I hear ya, I was expecting them to sound so much better but was so disappointed when I got them.

Ortofon e-Q5s are pretty amazing as well, slightly more balanced than the Yamahas

You should be able to pick up a set of TF10 for around $00 on eBay. They're great, but knowing they've been $100 so many times makes it kinda hard to shell out $200 for them.
