more bass? eww no, I don't want my mids drowned even more with that ugly bass boost. BTW there's no sibilance since it has no treble anyway lol. I need to use my IEMs for metal/rock, I am already suffering with the GR07s, too bloody bassy causing enough loss in the balance with treble.

Oh Kami, those words...... those words they.. :' (

It's like..........i don't know you at ALL. T_T .......................................... BASS SISSY!!! tongue.gif

Seriously those weak sauce gr07 MKIIs has TOO much bass for you LMAO, WOW that makes me not EVER want to try those HE-500s. haha

At least that dusty crusty look of the X1s beats the hell outta them cheap shiny lookin' lead paint job of those Chinaman tin cans. ksc75smile.gif

LoL, whateves his style is, it's kinda like a cross between rockish/ semi-dark/ horrorish/ hip-popish/ , etc. i dunno too many stuff going on. His album is not bad, but nothing really stood out for me. K.Dots album is much more cohesive/ coherent and is overall much more musical, due to the well mastered beats.

Though he is much better than The Game, or even the current Em, etc. cuz the guy know how to pick beats that matches his style. A solid album overall, but not much replay value for me sadly.

I just love how people try to judge rap based on what they hear on the radio and attempt to say that rock and pop music is better (in a measurable way) when in all honestly,(these days) there is just as much non-rap music on the radio that is incredibly repetitive, relies on a catchy hook, and a lot of the time has no positivity or actual message or story. There is always that idea that a rap song is defined by its hook and that there is nothing else to the song. I love how bun b talked about that before, this is a great interview of his, start at 7 minutes and 10 seconds in to see what I am talking about.

I have no hate towards any genre of music, it is just frustrating to see how rap music is the genre to hate on, its the cool thing to do, just like how beats headphones are the cool thing to bash, everyone hates on them even if they have not tried out a single pair of beats (in the same way that they have not actually listened to any rap) they just want to say, oh, yeah, rap sucks, I hate soulja boy and nicki minaj, generalizing the whole genre.

(OT: I also love how people say "You are just jealous of my beats headphones because you cannot afford them")

I listen to rock (mainly 80s-90s rock) on the radio all the time, and I found this one station that just made me furious listening to(this was about a week ago). Their little slogan was, "All of todays hits, without the rap"...

So I am thinking, okay, whatever, I don't mind.

Then they played Robin Thicke- Blurred lines; before that, I had not heard the song, about half way through I hear the very unmistakable ti doing his little shoutout "hustle gang" and then they proceed to just play the 2nd half of the songs instrumental (editing out ti's part of the song, ti started 2 minutes and 20 seconds in to the 4 and a half minutes song...) I was about to scream, honestly, that is just pathetic...

Also, (please do not hate me for it) but I honestly also cannot stand the unoriginal people who just say that biggie and 2pac are the best (and their favorite) and there is no discussion otherwise. I feel that they are either just saying that to follow the crowed to be cool(and sounds like they actually listen to/know about rap)

I feel most do not listen to much rap at all, at least to actually have an opinionated list of people who they feel are the good/ the best, and as a result, they just choose the most obvious answer instead of just saying they do not listen to much rap.

I would also add Em on there, granted now they have 3 really good artists to listen to that can arguably be the image of hip-hop but since they limit themselves to these 3, they don't really experience what hip-hop has to offer

most don't even actually listen to the RAP part actually, else they won't associate rap music to bass heavy music. I have seen this constantly in my short time here on head-fi.

It seems people don't really have a long attention span or just don't use their head to decipher rap lyrics. Especially from the good ones whom can be very enlightening.

speaking of great interviews

I love it when the interviewer pulls out old records and the artists get all hyped and nostalgic, like a kid again. You can very easily see where their roots* lie

Yeah, I meant do disrespect to them, they are amazing artists and I have no problem if they are considered some of best rappers ever, it's just a lot seem a lot of people have no reason as to why they should be there. I guess I could compare it slightly to how people who don't know much about electronic music will always bring up skrillex and deadmau5.

btw I LOVE the roots, they are so awesome. biggrin.gif

For me the number #1 rap album of the year (mixtape even) already dropped. Big K.R.I.T Am seriously amazed at how good this is and that's coming from a near strict Golden Age fan. That Southern twang reminiscent of Outkast and each and every track is drawing me in.

Spend some time with this! Listen to the full album plus download:
