I'll let you continue calling prime MCs dusty as long as you stick with Snow White, at least its a childhood memory and not some disturbing shirtless black man with dust on his hand

^^ This. Honestly. 12 year olds browse through here.

I'll gladly go with the creepy-Euro clowns instead. Just, no more of this.

Hip Hop is Dead - turning out to be a decent listen. Not quite as cerebral as I would like but what can you do.

Haven't heard Distant Relative, will have to catch up on that.

Life is Good - so sick (good way). Thought it was going to be terribad after hearing No Introduction (not a fan of lyrics about blowing money, crap like that), but the rest turned out to be quite solid.

Only worthwhile EH albums - Map, Remap for purely rap/old-school stuff. Swan Songs and Pieces are more chill and mainstream, Jisun collabs are pinnacles of what modern KPop should aim to be. Seriously, some of my favourite songs period. Everything else (apart from some good mixes in [e]) can go jump off a bridge.

IDK about that, I really liked the things he wanted to say in that album and "N.I.G.G.E.R. (The Slave and the Master)" is probably one of my fave Nas track

plus this song, I never really understood why it wasn't in the album

its not a perfect album, I know that of course, yeah HHiD is not illmatic type, its a little more mature imo taking advantage of a wide array of sample to produce sound other than classic hip-hop

For some reason never really became a huge fan of EH, even though some of their albums are pretty good.

It's hard to make political rap not preachy, the ones that can do it real well like immortal technique is hard to find. Nas gets a bit preachy sometimes, but thank god it is not like KRS-One levels, and i use to love that dood. ha

See this track is exactly what i am talking about, you can get your political message across without being preachy but i think Nas fails to do so with this track. It's got a lot of heart but while watching it i was like c'mon, seriously???

It's probably Tablo. Yeah, I'm not crazy about him either. He does write a good portion of the lyrics, and they can be...uhh, how to put this...a total cheesefest? Tukutz is my favourite in the group, some slick mixes.

KRS-One and his stupid Gospel. Yeah, sometimes even those big-shot legend rappers can get their egos massively inflated. Tupac got real big, and he was pretty humble in RL. There's an image to protect, sure, but would it kill them to tone it down and not get too into the macho-personas? Makes for less creative music if they're just comparing pen-...I mean car sizes.

Gotta agree with sfwalcer here, just too preachy, and I'm not big into what he's saying at all. Also taking out the lyrical context, not really a stand-out song. Totally a case of YMMV though, so no disrespect.

Good point, Illmatic was a bit sparse and "clean", worked to it's advantage since it didn't detract from the amazing rap. Hip Hop is Dead sound-wise, definitely an whole nother beast..

Could tweak the list a bit, but yeah, it's a pretty decent list. The comment section is pure gold though. Fangirls just being themselves.

was gonna ask about that list for legitimacy, btw is psy considered a rapper or a pop singer?

LoL, finally read through the article and it's a decent list indeed. Comments on GD and TOP is typical fangirling arguments in kpop forums/ youtube. Funny to see on XXL. haha

The list is pretty legit to me, since those are the top dogs that are relevant/ big hitters in the Korean hip hop scene. Though I think there are better acts than Swings/ deepflow and the obvious GD/ TOP.  Besides that it's pretty spot on. Oh yeah take Dok2's @ss out as well, but he got lucky since he was coupled with The Quiett.

I would def add Jerry.K or Dead'P to the list. Heck, even Kebee/Suda would've been nice due to their pretty unique poetic style.
