What sonic differences can I expect between the two models? I own the I+ and am looking for something with a warmer, more lush, more stereotypical tubey sound to complement it and was wondering if the MK II fits the bill.

The I+ is a hybrid. It's not tubey to me at all.
The II (and II+) are OTL's. They're tubey.
Any OTL will be warmer/tubey as you're describing.
i'm a little confused concerning the different versions of the mk II , II+ , II++ ,
which is the newest version, best sounding (if known) any info greatly appreciated !!
