May 5th - Vancouver, BC Meet 2013 - Page 28

We thought they had two Maple or Board rooms which they don't - only one of each.

One big room gets my vote. Two rooms far away from each other is kind of a waste. Only separates the group further.

I need to know ASAP so I can book it tomorrow. Time to send out pms..

VPL ......

VPL all the way...call me paranoid but two rooms = security liability...tough to keep an eye on gear and people coming and going...

VPL - two rooms in separate floors completely defeat the sense of "camaraderie" and "community" and other buzzwords of various natures.

Guess people will just have to talk quietly.

Okay this might have already been discussed, but is there a reason we can't go back to the Coal Harbour Community Centre, like we did last September?  I seem to recall it being free, and a decent enough facility, no?

It wasn't free. Travis generously covered the costs.

VPL and Trout Lake is closer to the main land than all the way downtown. :P

We are talking downtown VPL right -- just for clarification; not sure whether you're thinking of another VPL branch??

Guys, change of plans. VPL had no rooms at all and they say they usually have it all booked up from a month prior. Trout Lake = those two rooms on separate floors, nothing else.

So, I went ahead and booked a room at SFU Harbour Centre. Rate is $170 for the whole day (full day rate only), I'm waiting on the email for details. Room 1525 @ http://www.sfu.ca/mecs/harbour+centre/rooms/seminar.html?keepThis=true&TB_iframe=true&height=700&width=700

I think this will be perfect for us.

I'll update you guys tomorrow. Sorry about the confusion, there's just not a good space available easily. Atleast we get to come in early and leave really late and so we have no restriction of time.
