Need recommendations upgrading from fiio e10

I currently have a fiio e10 and I'm looking for an amp/dac upgrade in the $100-$200.  The e10 has a noisy volume knob in which the sounds cuts in and out when adjusting the volume which is pretty annoying.  This will solely be used at my PC.  Something with a bass boost will be nice but not required.  Is the audioengine D1 a good choice?

The Audioengine D1 have nice features (connectivity) you can even use it with the Audioengine Speakers, but also add on your list the Schiit modi/magni, seems like a lot of folks around here are using it.
