Sound Earphones has a new video up about the ADV:
http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=O5iqYzAxp0M&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DO5iqYzAxp0M
-weather proof
-magnesium shell
-$199
-reflective cable
-PST precision tuning technology; divits are used on the surface cone to achieve specific tunning.

Seems like this isn't really an audiophile earphone, at least not so much. Seems more like a nice mainstream consumer pair for the gym that you don't have to worry too much about.

Out of speculation, as the name implies (adventure), this might have to be something to be used outdoors probably hiking.

Since they came up with some newer earphones intended for cycling, I'm guessing these are just for outdoor use and wont have any close sound to they're flagships.

For $200 I'd expect some good sounding stuff with a typical Westone house sound.

I agree with shotgun here. Westone won't tint there name with a bad sounding earphone either... Surely

Pretty much. Sound like they'd be awesome work out phones though. However that cloth based cord makes me wonder what cable noise would be like. It was almost unbearable with the Radius DDM unless you were stationary

DDM had to be worn straight down right?  Since the ADV is configured to only go over the ear, I'd think microphonics would be minimal.  When I wear any cable over the ear and tuck it under my shirt, I get minimal microphonics doing yard work.

Yeah, I'd hope that mitigates the noise level. I get cable noise from my ES5s too. It should be worth noting that I do wear glasses so that might play into it. The one nice thing about cloth covered cords is that they are really tangle resistant, and that's very nice indeed.

Interesting, dynamic drivers from Westone, looking forward to this one

These might be good monsoon-season iems...can't wait to hear what the sound is like, though being arguably marketed as a sort of mainstream product suggests to me that 'bass-heavy' could be in the cards...wait and see time.

Westone has some teaser posts on their Facebook page.  One looks like a shot of the new case for the adventure series.

I want a pair for the gym; wonder how the fit is. Would be nice to have a rugged audiophile headphone that I can use and abuse.

Same with the Klipsch Custom 3 and the cables went over the ear. On the bright side, the cable is replaceable so there are other cable options out there.
