A few years ago, I bought a pair of Skullcandy FMJs as an upgrade to my current IEMs at that time (Skullcandy Ink'd). Back then I was used to the sound signature of the Ink'd and already thought it was really good. but when I put on the FMJs, I was like "Woah! This is awesome! I've never heard sound this good before! It's like my music's been delivered to me in HD quality!" I was totally amazed by the smoothness of the sound and the detail and clarity.
Then a few years passed and I have my trusty Sennheiser HD218s to satisfy my musical needs now. I've been using them for quite a while, and I'm pretty used to its sound signature already.
So a little while ago, I was cleaning my room and saw the old Skullcandy FMJs I hadn't listened to in so long and decided to plug in and play a few tunes while I cleaned the room. When I did, I was like "Oh my gosh, what is this crap I'm hearing?!" After only 2 songs.
There are two explanations here. Either my FMJs have collected dust and that's reduced the quality of the sound (because back when I was using them, I could SWEAR it had amazingly good sound) OR I've really gotten spoiled by my Sennheisers. Anybody with this kind of experience?
