Hi, I am doing parts 1, 2, and 4 of the mod and I have a question about the back vent spacers. I have some rubber that is 1.25 mm thick so 2.5 mm doubled up. Which thickness would be better - 1.25 or 2.5? The recommendations is for 1.5 - 2 mm in the original mod instructions (with electrical tape). Thanks!

You could do what I do, double up in the middle two, and use singles for the two side ones.

I thought about that but I wondered if that was too much of a step. And it looks like Modulor uses the same thickness spacers on his mods

Not really. I'm using the pads Modulor sent me nowadays, and actually opted to add a bit more thickness to the two middle spacers. It gives the back a slightly wider opening without it being too abrupt.

so u modified the modified v.2 jerg pads by modulor? confused.gif lolz... so whats the influence of making the vents more open? and do u still use the vents in front or again to the back?

by the way..i tried ur latest info...the vent openings in front..and on some older 70ties analog recorded tracks it scares u ****less at first!...as those analog (high quality) recorded (they use different mics directly connected to any instrument i guess?) tracks lets u experience as if they are around u!! sitting next to u! at first that was a bit to much for my taste...hearing two electrical guitars screaming next to ur ears..

BUT NOW...wow..i am more customed to it....u can hear the different placement better then with vents in back..its indeed less intimate..i admit..closer by....less far away..but guys..try it! TO BE HONEST: its not a day and night difference..and the impact is not the same on all tracks..it depends on how they were recorded i guess...

DOES ANYONE ELSE TRIED THIS 180 DEGREES MOD OF THE VENTS ALSO? AND WHAT U THOUGHT?

I don't really care for making the vents more open, just wanna make the pad angling a bit more so it feels more comfortable.

So i dropped by Walmart the other day to find some material similar (polyfelt) to the velour pads. I dont want to rip up some perfectly useful pads worth $20. I got a whole square yard of this stuff for $1.99 and i'm going to pare it down with a razor blade to thin it out and remove the fuzzies. I'll update once done to give impressions how similar it is to the velour.
