Sonically they are similiar enough that I wouldn't trade for the sound, but I suppose it depends how much you are bothered by the other factors.  The reasons you mentioned are probably why I resisted purchasing the M4U1 in the first place.

I have a bit of a square face so the HP50s don't look too bad on me actually tongue.gif

I got mine for 170usd new.... I thought it is a really good price.....So the HP50 are the better looking version of M4U1.... btw, I have no intention to carry the M4U1 outside... LoL

thanks, guys. Now I am convinced and will most likely to pick up the HP50 for myself before X'mas.... they will be available in Hong Kong late next month. If I recall correctly, the 50 should be more neutral to the P7... I am quite impressed with the speaker like sound of the M4U1... great detail retrieval almost like HD650, treble is smooth and bass can go deep without being overwhelming.... I really hope the HP50 will be like these too

Yes, I did not care for the P7 and much prefer the HP50's sound signature.

I can see that some might find the P7 to have a bit of a camel three hump FR. I certainly hear this when coming from the Focal Spirit Pro or the B&O H6.It does not take long to adjust to the P7 signature but perhaps the HP50 is a smoother choice for those seeking a more neutral response?

Where can I order one besides Amazon? Don't want to receive a fake.

These are so recent to the market there are probably no fakes. Any of the Amazon sellers (World Wide Stereo, Audio Advisor) would be good bets; they have their own sites. Apples stores in Europe carry them, too.

I can vouch for Worldwide Stereo as they are long-established, reputable high-end A/V company with impressive showrooms in my area.
