I haven't heard the momentum 2.0. They were on my short list, but I got the HP50 for almost 1/3rd the price, used. I would guess the momentums are more comfortable, and soundwise probably comes down to a matter of taste. If I had to pay full price, I would probably go with the momentums because I think Senns build quality has stood the test of time

Yeah I wouldn't be opposed to paying more for better build quality.  It will come down to fitting, but it does seem the HP50s have a very impressive sound stage.  I wish somewhere near me sold them so I could listen.

In a few days the Momentum 2 should start showing up in stores around here. But this is the South of France so "should show up" isn't the same as "will show up". It will probably depend on whether the retailers around here were able to close out stock on the old ones. Anyway, when they show up, I will take my HP50s and so some instore A/B. The stores are quiet and no pressure so I should be able to form an opinion. Will post here when I do...

Build quality is important, my Sonys are very solid, the creaking would definitely bother me (seems to be one of the biggest knocks on the HP50s).

Have not tried the P7, but my point was that compared to the HD600, which have very large cups, most cans feel small. The HP50's cups are bigger and more comfortable than the ATH-M50, though.

No, if you get a creaker it will likely bother you even if you sit still, because it creaks at the hinge, which means if you move your jaw or head it will creak.
