Scratches easily, so white is your best bet.

Well, yes it is down to your opinion.... but I think the piano black shows up scuffs and scratches vs white which kind of hides it with less mirror-like reflectivity. I just wish these cans had a different external design....they are so smoooth as I'm treble sensitive and I'm trying to tame a pair of D2k in the upper region I just got.

NAD have totally nailed the upper region IMO.

I appreciate the response. Thanks. I don't have an opinion--I was asking.

Anyone else have experience with those two colors? Or thoughts about them?

I think the black ones will be easier to sell should you ever decide to do that.

I'm thinking of buying the white one because the NAD logo shows less. But maybe it will look lame with the big black headband.

Haven't really noticed any scratching on my black ones but I've been fairly careful with them so far.

I haven't noticed any scratching either, plus black is just so much more right for serious headphones like these!

The main disadvantage is that they're not the flashy-Ferrari red ones I've got.

If it helps you decide, SpearitSound has Open box in black and Refurbished in Black or Red for 219.

I ordered the Open Box in Black (mostly for the 1yr warranty) instead of the refurbished ones with the 6 month warranty.  I think I still would have gone with black anyways.

That's exactly what I did and they showed up in perfect condition.

Mine arrived in perfect condition.  Can't wait to spend the day re-listening to all my music!

First impression:

Sound is excellent.

The only thing I wish was different was the depth of the ear pads.  My ears touch the hard plastic.  I think it may be something I will get used to though.  It is too bad no one is producing deeper after market ear pads.

Tissue stuff the earpads or make gel inserts...photos are top right in the photo gallery box.

FWIW, both of the detachable cables that came with my Koss DJ200s work with the HP50 with no problem. That gives me a 4 foot KTC cord and 8 foot coiled cord I can use!! Not sure if these can be ordered without buying the DJ200s though.

I would definitely consider the Mad Dog Alpha pads.  Can you confirm that they fit?  I tried the M50 pads (that I had on my DJ200s) but they are too big around.
