True, ear-splitting loud is not good, but concert loud is typical and any IEM should be able to handle that type of volume with ease, whatever dB that is.
Full volume off an iphone/ipod will be okay, however like someone mentioned I'd be worried about your ears. This can also all depend on the recording/volume level of the song.
This is very true, I have a lot of older songs where I put the volume on max and its just right, other songs I need it just about half way, the xba series seems to have low volume as is anyway.
