Ok, I vote for another poll on the timeframe of the meet/length of the meet. I'd default to 5 hours as that seems to be plenty of time. As for when that five hours happens during the day... As previously suggested, 12pm-5pm possibly?

Sounds good to me! And yeah, 12-5 seems to be the most "natural" time.. Not too early or too late for those who has to do a bit of driving (like me).

April is good for me. And it's Saturday. Who really wants to get up early to drive to an early morning meet

Okay, just got back from work and managed to talk with a coordinator.

 

Good news!: The room we'd most likely use is called "Michigame". It is the 2nd picture down on the main website page (if you want to know what it looks like: http://www.kelloggcenter.com/), meaning fancy chairs and power outlets at every other chair, built into the tables meaning minimum chance of tripping on cables and therefore dead equipment. It is also on the lower level of the complex, meaning it is extremely easy to smuggle food in versus other rooms! It also seats quite a few more than will come to the meet, so extra space for activities!

 

Some Bad news!: It costs a minimum of $250! (Aaaaaannnnndddd, i've had my fun :D) Not really though. But there is a tiny difference in price depending on the time slot chosen. It would be $75 for a prime time like 12pm-5pm, but after 6pm (so, 6pm-10pm) it is only $50. I understand that leaving the building so late would probably not be an option for some, but we can discuss that. I would not mind paying a little more out of pocket to rent the room earlier, so that's my position on the matter.

 

 

Now we just need some feedback from everyone and to settle on a date sooner rather than later, as april can get rather busy and we might lose our room (we have rooms booked months in advanced normally). I'd also like to know what day of the week would be preferred (mon, tue, wed, etc.). I'm going to be communicating further with the coordinator as things develop. I just remembered I did not ask about methods of room payment, so that might be a job for tomorrow.

*PM/Nag fellow head-fiers to visit the thread so an consensus can be reached

*Enjoy listening to music!

Like I said before, I'd be glad to put up $20 toward the room fee. I also think the rest of us should try to cover the room fee if we can, not blitzxgene. After all, he has to handle the arrangements.

How long did the last meetup last? Maybe we get the 12-5 pm slot, but start at 1 pm? That would give people time to grab their own lunch before they got there, and then any additional food brought could be more snack/appetizer stuff.

I can throw in $20 if this is to become a reality.

I'd definitely throw in some money/ bring snacks. These things aren't cheap.

count my 20 in there.

Btw slight OOT: do you guys know any reputable brick & mortar store(s) that carry high-end headphones & amps here in (south) Michigan? Looking for a place for trying out stuff (e.g. lcd2, hd800, other hps/amps) before buying. I know I'll get to try stuff at the meet, but I guess I can't call you guys for a meeting every time I want to buy something, yes?

I'm not sure about the other headphones, but the closest place to demo lcd-2s was in Chicago. (As far as I could tell)

Michigan is a headphone dead zone, so don't count on much. Maybe somewhere in Ann Arbor?
