Cowon Z2 vs SONY NWZ-Z1050 - Better audio quality

Hi!

I'm searching for a new mp3 player since my cowon s9 doesn't work (well the power button doesn't work). My first priority is that the mp3 player got a nice audio quality, but having good batterylife is also important. Almost all of my music is in flac, so that's important. Should I just wait a couple of months to see if cowon or sony are going to bring new mp3 players in the market? I liked the sound of my cowon, though it was a little bit "weak" in the power of the sound. Which one is better?

If you could wait until May, get the Fiio X3. I think when it comes out it should blow pretty much all mp3 players cept for like a DX100 or the new hifiman which would be around $1k(Q_Q). It's gonna cost only around $150-180ish! Get into the Hype! More info on this thread.

Z1050 is discontinued here by US Sony. Most of the 'authorized dealers' are out of stock on them.

 

To me the Z is the best of all digital mp3 players out there.

 

Simply due to the fact of its sound quality.

 

Most important was the screen size. The bigger the screen the better for the eyes.

 

Also it was capable of playing video, something needed for me when I get fed up of music.

 

 

The Z2 is a great alternative as it plays a variety of files. The downside is it has some bug issues eg. shuts down when charged for a while, artwok doesnt appear on some files.

Thanks for the replies. The problem with the cowons are that they are kind of boring, they are great at sound quality, but most of the stuff with it is pretty mediocre. I really want something with a good audio quality, and something you can use internet with. Does Sony or Cowon have anything new coming out soon? The Fiio X3 although it may have good sound quality, it kind of looks boring och doesn't offer much more if I'm going to pay a lot of money.

Yeah it's a pure music player and does nothing but that. If  your looking for a PMP i suggest a Sony NWZ-F806, Ipod Touch 4G, Or a galaxy Player 4.2. If you don't mind doing auctions and getting used i suggest cowboom.If you buy from cowboom just make sure you read the descriptions carefully. Happy hunting!
