Why is Amazon (and other vendors) screwing Canadian headphone buyers?

For about the last 11 months or more, the Canadian dollar has been at par or above it's US counterpart. We also signed a free trade agreement with the US more than 20 years ago. So why are Canadians not allowed to purchase headphones at the same price as our friends in the US? When our dollar was at 63 cents US, they would sell us anything.

Amazon.com has plenty of deals but will not ship anything anymore to Canada, and amazon.ca never has any headphones, let alone actual deals. In fact, .ca's "sale" prices are usually higher than .com's regular prices. Only the Apple store seems to play on a level field but there are no deals.

Any other Canucks feeling gouged and left out in the cold?

Because Amazon and every other large company are by their nature money grabbing vultures.

What I am asking is why there is such a gulf between Amazons..

How do you think it is in sweden then? Everything costs loads of money compared to the US and the selection of items is a joke. I feel your pain :)

Every time I try to buy headphones or just about anything from Amazon other than CDs or books I get a "Cannot ship to your address" notice. The oddity is that on some of the Australian forums they discuss how they got cheap headphones from Amazon, and no one has yet told me how even though I've asked several times.

Simply setup a forwarding address within US, and amazon.com will be unlocked.   My preferred one is myus.com.

take care

Maybe blame the the company for not allowing amazon to ship outside certain regions when they sign an agreement to sell their products?

Well, because generally speaking, we Americans tend to think of you Canucks as shifty weasels.  Especially those of you who don't think there's any similarities in general sound signature between Oppo's PM-1 and the HD650.  I mean geez - could you demonstrate your questionable judgement any more obviously?
