I've recently gotten into the audiophile jig about a month ago, and have bought an amplifier for my headphones, but I still haven't gotten a DAC. Since this is going to be my first DAC, my expectations of the sound difference might be mixed up, but I certainly want something that will last a long time, and I will appreciate. I listen to rap, classical, and rock, if that helps, and would like a DAC that retains the detail of larger file sizes of WAV, FLAC files etc. Currently my budget is <$250. I've eyed the Objective Odac and the Schiit Modi, but might invest in the Bifrost, albeit I will have to wait a few months more. So my question is: should I pull the pin already and get one of the entry level DACs, or should I wait and go buy the Bifrost? If there are any other DACs that you guys could recommend though, that would also be helpful! Thanks!
