ended up ordering the E11 and the DT770 80ohm, M50s, and COP. Getting them before friday and will test them all out and decide what to keep. From reviews it appears it will be the COP or DT770

Good move. I should do the same more often, but it does happen that I get too attached to almost anything I try out.

I prefer the DT770 for what i use them for
all around id go for the COP
But i have different headphones for different applications.. so for me its always been DT770 ;)
I got the COP and M50 today. Listened to both and prefer the COP so far. Although it is very hot to wear. I am unsure how I feel about that, although I can buy different pads I'd assume? The M50 has less bass than the COP (although you can adjust it) and appears to sound lighter/brighter (not sure what the terms are) just not as deep. The COP also blocks out noise more passively.
So tomorrow the DT770 arrives along with the E11. The decision will come then. Any pad recommendations are welcomed though.

Things will get interesting..
As in hard to make a decision? and the amp should make a difference from what I'm hearing today too.

out of these the only ones i wouldn't own are the M50
because i don't like the treble on them.
or the bass.

I'm liking the COP so far. Will post my decision and why tomorrow after I run each for an hour or so.
Also, I wish I hadn't read so much on this site. Now I'm wondering if I should stretch my limit and get something else altogether. probably should just give my first pair a good go around to see what i do and don't like, but damn there's so many options

I've gotten the DT770 and COP in and I'm not in love with either one. I would consider upping my budget to $300. The COP are too tight to my head and extremely hot.
What about a pair of mad dogs? With an E11 will it give me bass?
There's just so much that I'm sort of overwhelmed
Or really is there anything under $300 that stands out? It just seems the Mad Dogs are the best overall headphone under $300 and with an amp should still have enough bass for me

what did you not like about either other than the comfort issue of the COP? how did you feel the sound was? any idea what changes you would like in your sound?
was the bass enough on them?
