Lol. So you just got them. Ya no doubt. The first day is definitely the honey moon phase. It is the next day you realize the flaw being the shallow pads but for now enjoy that sound. These are probably the best sounding cans I have ever put on my head on open box for me.

Jealous of those pics :)  Still awaiting my package from Tenso to arrive, but should've listened to the previous posts and waited on the purchase.  The yen is dropping fast!! My order made 3 days ago was equivalent to $120 USD.  If I were to buy them today, it would've been a tick under $115.

I hate to say this because the m80 sounded so good to me and still do have such great mids,
But these es700 are like monsters in sound over it making them sound like toys!
M80 going to my GF now! Haha!

I can't believe my ears on comparison to the m100..!!
I had my son verify what I was hearing.
They are his m100s
These es700 put a smile on his face.
M100-deeper soundstage & not as forward
Es700-wider soundstage, more forward & brighter.

Both strangly have a veey similar "live" realistic quality in the mids.
Like the mids were alive & rich on both yet the es700 just brighter in upper mids.
Bass extension shocking on es700 to keep up & be close with m100.
I just put them down for a few hour burn in...
Dam...wew! Ear orgasm!

Also the metal on the es700 cannot be bent like on the es7 to get them more low profile, but its ok.
The ws700 next to my m80 both burning away!

Really? Comparable sound to the M100, and brighter? Dsnuts is costing me a lot of money :-)
Comparable in sound quality and some sonic characteristics, yet the m100 still sound larger due to soundstage depth and bass.

The es700 bass is shockingly large tho.
Edit: to clarify, the bass "sounds" large,
Not that it is bass heavy, rather it is large sounding.
Like a bigger can.
I would say bass as large and better than an m50,
From my memory as I don't have the m50.
Edit: These 700 amped are sooo alive!
Just beautiful!

How do the closed back A900x compare to the ES700? It seems they would have similar tuning but what else sets them apart sound-wise?

Dam those shallow pads!
Until I get some new pads..
Looks like the Q-Tip mod to the rescue!

Oh oh I see a micro partial swirl mark on the surface!
Going to have 2 protect the mirrored surface,
So it's similar to the es7 in getting scuffed although to a lesser degree. .

Es7 to es700
Larger wider deeper soundstage
More clear:
very transparent quality and highly detailed.
More bass
More comfortable headband
Softer cable very string like in pliability.
Higher quality finish on cups.
The angled metal by the cups cannot be bent like the es7.

To me it outperforms all my previous portables,
By a large amount of difference.
Performs almost on level of a full blown over ear can.
I prefer its sonic signature over the es7 & es9.

Would you say these outdo the ESW9s?
