Sweet !

 

I was waiting for an improved version of the ES7s after their cable was accidentally ripped by my wife. Didn't want to buy new ES7s because of comfort and weak cable...

 

Those baby seems to have a comfortable headband, juste hop the cable is more sturdy... pics seems to show the same cable as ES7 :-/

A new cable from Audio-Technica is less than $10 and takes about 15 minutes to replace.  Fix them and sell them and get  some 700s!

dosley01 : no way to repair them. I tried but the very very thin wire that connects the speaker to the board where the cable is soldered is severed. This is impossible to repaire.

Since you guys seem so excited about the new ES700, I took the liberty to translate the few reviews I found of the headphones on kakaku.com (a very popular Japanese price comparing, review and product info website.)

買ってきちゃいました。
イヤホンでは1万円以上の機種も持ってますが、ヘッドホンで1万円以上は初めてです。
まずES7とES700の試聴機を比較すると、明らかにES700の方がクリアだと感じました。
箱から出すと、まずケーブルに目がいきました。
めちゃめちゃしなやかで全然クセが付いてない！
まだ箱から出したばかりなのでちょっと篭ってますが、これからどこまでクリアになるのか楽しみです。
ES7との差が感じられないようなら他の機種を買おうと思ってましたが、正直予想以上でした。
帰ってから気付いたんですが、この機種って「MADE IN JAPAN」なんですね。
なんだかうれしい。
I ended up buying it.
I own earphones that cost more than a 110$, but this is the first time I've bought headphones that cost more than a 110$.
First of all, when I compared the listening experience between the ES7 and the ES700, I noticed that the ES700 obviously sounded a lot clearer.
When I took the headphones out the box, the first thing that catched my eye was the cable.
It looked very supple/ductile and didn't have any faults!
I just started listening to these so the sound is a little confined , but I'm excited to see how much better the sound is going to become from now on,
I thought the sound quality compared to the ES7 wouldn't be much different and that I would buy another pair of headphones, but these headphones were not at all like what I thought they would be like and far surpassed my expectations.
After coming back home, I noticed that these headphones were actually Made in Japan.
Somehow I'm happy. (The fact that they're made in Japan and that he was surprised by the headphones....)

Nice, thanks for the review... I ordered a pair form Rakuten and hope to get them in 2 or 3 weeks.
 

Yeah mate I think I will also make a tenso account now, I've been putting it off for a long time coz I didint trust it but I see more and more people are using it.

Wow that's pretty quick.

I've contacted my eBay mate that's in shanghai to see if he can get hold of them and if he does then maybe he can do me them even cheaper than £100.

That would be a freaking steal!

Still I wonder how big the deference is between then and the JVCs. Hopefully you will be able to tell us by the end of the week mate. ;-)

It's definitely very interesting to see made in Japan headphones at such a low price (around 13000 JPY.) After all, I haven't heard of even a flagship sony IEM or headphone that's not been made in Thailand recently. 

I would like to know if the ES500 is made in Japan.
