Looking for a pair of headphones (Budget ~$350)

I'm looking for a pair of headphones that can play my music well

Genres: Asian pop, rock, Electronic 

Willing to spend ~$200 on an amp/dac if neccessary.

I've had no experience with headphones (only owned IEMS) so some help would be great.

Do you have any opinions on the Sennheiser HD650'S? I've seen a lot of threads about it and was wondering if it was a good choice for me.

A second hand Denon D2000 will also play well with those genres.

Sure, it could be good, but it's all a flavor game. The HD650 however requires a little more amplification, so it adds to budget. Also the HD650 costs quite a bit unless you buy it used; you won't find it new for $350 right now likely. I know you stated $200 for amp/dac, but that raises your total budget to $550. And frankly I think you can do better in that budget bracket with a Hifiman HE-400. The HD650 is a dark headphone, great mids, warm mid-bass. It's a headphone that some like, some don't. Most people that like asian pop however seem to like more treble, just a generalization and may not apply to you. You'll have to describe more about the treble (highs) to figure out what might be best for you. For your $200 budget on DAC/AMP, the Schiit Modi & Magni would be great. If you went that route, I would put you on the Hifiman HE-400, Beyer DT880 250ohm or Sennheiser HD600.
